Gaylia Wales Roberts

Funeral service for Gaylia Wales Roberts, 81, was held May 18 at 4 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Curtis officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Mrs. Roberts died May 16 at Crestwood Medical Center. She was born April 10, 1941, in Limestone County, to Cecil Owen Wales and Ruby Glaze Hasting Wales. She was a longstanding hospital volunteer, always willing to help others and attended Mayfair Church of Christ. Banking and bookkeeping were how she spent her career, prior to her retirement. She loved her grandchildren and children dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. She enjoyed gardening and birdwatching. Preceding her in death were her husband Luther Hewlett Roberts and her parents. Survivors include sons, Butch Roberts (Myra) and Dr. Brian Roberts (Cindy); sisters, Judy Leeman and Donna Russell (David); grandchildren, Kelly Roberts Weaver (Justin), Nathan Roberts (Lindsay), John Roberts (Madison), Elizabeth Roberts Coleman (Andrew), Ella Marie Roberts and Anna Renee Roberts; great grandchildren, Wesley Brian Roberts and Caroline James Weavers. Pallbearers were Nathan Roberts, John Roberts, Justin Weaver and Jordan Clem. In lieu of flowers make Memorial Contributions to the Good Samaritan Fund at Hartselle First United Methodist Church.
 

Marie Crow
Danville
Funeral service for Marie Crow, 102, was held May 18 at 2 p.m. at Friendship Church of Danville, with Bro. Caleb Lewis officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Crow passed away May 15.  She was born July 30, 1919 to Johnnie Franklin Heidt and Addie Hughes Heidt Hill, who preceded her in death along with brothers, J.P., Mitchell and Cecil, and her husband, Zemon and a son, Sammy. Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Crow Seifried (Charles) and Vicki Crow Lewis (Randy); grandchildren, Elizabeth Seifried (Chad McElligott), Brian Crow (Abby), Brett Crow (Karen), Hope Shen (Yifan), and Caleb Lewis (Heather) and great grandchildren, Avery Anne Seifried McElligott, Hampton
Samuel Crow, John Hollis Crow and Shiloh Rose Lewis. Marie was born in Brickeys, Arkansas, on July 30, 1919 and moved to Danville when her father died. After graduating from Danville High
School, she attended Jacksonville State teachers College and Athens College. She married Zemon and began life on the Crow farm. It was there, she and Zemon raised their children and instilled in them respect for hard work, love of family, and Christian service. The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Valley for their devoted, compassionate care during our mother’s illness. To the ladies who cared for our mother day after day and night after night during her long confinement, we express our deep appreciation. Your loving care far exceeded our expectations for service. The family respectfully asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Friendship Baptist Church. 

Roy Newton Jones, Sr.
Hartselle
Funeral service for Roy Newton Jones, Sr., 83, was held May 20 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Greg Lee officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was held in Hartselle City Cemetery with the United States Marine Corps providing honors. at Peck Funeral Home. Mr. Jones passed away May 17 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born November 27, 1938, in Pickens County, to Edward Columbus Jones and Ola Hooper Jones. He was a member of the West Hartselle Baptist Church, a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was a caring husband, a loving father and a respected friend. Preceding him in death were his wife, Emily Dell Lewis Jones and his daughter, Melody P. Jones. Survivors include son, Roy N. Jones, Jr. (Adriana); grandchild, Mylee Elizabeth Jones and special friend, Sue Clements. Pallbearers were the men of West Hartselle Baptist Church. 

Ashley Parker Ledlow

Funeral service for Ashley Parker Ledlow, 39, was held May 19 at Gum Springs Baptist Church with Pastors Roger and Sherry Hubanks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Gum Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Ledlow died May 16. She was born April 12, 1983, in Lawrence County to Terry Willard Parker and Brenda Lee Bost Scott. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jimmy and Jean Self, David Bost and Coy Parker. Survivors include sons, Ethan Ledlow, Nicholas Reeves, and Landen Ledlow; mother, Brenda Lee Scott (Brent); father, Terry Willard Parker; grandmother, Mamie Parker. Her cousins served as pallbearers. 

Debbie Brown
Danville
Funeral service for Debbie Brown, 66, was held May 20 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donnie McDonald officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Brown passed away May 18 at her residence.  She was born December 8, 1955, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Winford Lee Franks and Ila May Higdon. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Debbie was a Baptist in her faith. She was employed by General Motors, working in assembly prior to her retirement. Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers, Stan Franks and Wimpy Franks and a sister and her husband, Thenia and Allen Brown. Survivors include husband, Jimmy Brown (Jimbo); sons, Stanley Clem,
Timbo Brown, and Tearle Brown (Ashley); daughters, Stacey Birdsell (Richard) and Tammy Baker; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren Pallbearers were Cody Baker, Zach Baker, Tyler Brown, T.J. Brown, Bryant Birdsell and Adam Birdsell.
