Brewer, Danville, Priceville soccer teams head to playoffs

The Brewer, Danville, and Priceville soccer teams are headed into the first round of the state playoffs.

“I’m so excited about what our team accomplished this season. Our team finishing undefeated in the area is a highlight for what most would consider a young team,” said Priceville girls team captain Carly Jo Nelson. “Playoff time is so much fun. It’s what we practice every day for. We know we will face great competition from this point forward.”

The Priceville boys and girls won their area by defeating Brewer this past week. The Priceville girls (12-4-1) will host West Morgan (9-8-0) on April 29 at 6 p.m. The Priceville boys (11-3-1) will host West Morgan (9-7-1) on April 29 at 7 p.m.

“Winning 11 games is great, and winning the area is great, but we’re not finished,” said Priceville boys team captain Elijah Hopkins.

Danville boys and girls picked up wins over St. Bernard this past week to secure their spot in the playoffs. The Danville girls will host Mars Hill on May 2, while the boys will travel to Mars Hill on May 3.

The Brewer boys punched their ticket to the playoffs with a win over West Point. They will travel to Russellville on April 28 for a 6 p.m. start.
