Unemployment drops locally, statewide

Morgan County was below 2 percent unemployment in March, and the state was at a seasonally-adjusted 2.9 percent – tying the state’s historic low in September 2019 – according to data released by the Alabama Department of Labor.
Morgan County’s unemployment in March was 1.9 percent, down from 2.8 percent in March 2021 and tied with Marshall and Limestone counties for the third lowest unemployment rate in the state.
