Somerville woman gets burglary charge

March 24 at approximately 7:45 p.m., deputies with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office patrol division, along with the Falkville Police Department, were dispatched to the 2600 block of Wilhite Road in reference to a possible burglary in progress.

Deputies were advised by Morgan County 911 that the property owner was away from her residence but observed through her home security camera system a white female carrying items away from the residence.

Deputies arrived at the residence and made contact with a female who identified herself as Debra Louise Carden, 50, of Somerville. According to police, Carden admitted to being in possession of several items that did not belong to her.

An investigator arrived at the residence to speak with Carden and the property owner. According to the report, it was determined Carden unlawfully entered a storage shed that belonged to the property owner, removed several items from the shed and placed them in her vehicle with the intention of leaving with the items.
