Lebanon Church of God hosts gospel jam 

Everyone is invited to attend the Ricketts and Friends Gospel Jam to be held April 16 under the Tabernacle at Lebanon Church of God, located at 7575 Highway 36, Danville. The time will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m .  

Town of Falkville Activities 

Special congratulations go out this week to Elli Lorance and her family. Elli signed her letter of intent this month to play softball at Huntington College.  

A Falkville Town-Wide Yard Sale will be held April 29-30, starting at 7 a.m.  

You can go to the Town of Falkville on Facebook for details. Everyone who wishes to participate must register at the Falkville Town Hall. 

Feb. 22 the Falkville Public Library Board met in the office conference room. Those attending were Tina Rogers, Jane Hill, Pam MacDonald, Rhona Summerford, librarian Jenny Asherbranner and library aide Marie Sivley.  

Members planned weekly story hours for June, with crafts and refreshments. The Summer Reading Program for July was also discussed. 

Benefit for American Cancer Society  

A benefit for the American Cancer Society will be held April 2 at 6 p.m. at Lawrence County High School Auditorium. This will be a music, gospel, country, variety, comedy and family fun evening.  

The admission will be $10, and children younger than 12 will get in free.  

The evening will feature bluegrass gospel and comedy by C.R. Hood and Rufus Rareback. Other guests will include Joyful Noise and Remnants Band.  

Special thanks go out to Pepsi Cola of Decatur and David Norwood of WALW-FM 97.9, who will be the emcee for the evening. The sound and lighting will be furnished by T-N-T Sound and Lighting. 

All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
