Chamber sets State of Communities events

Special to the Enquirer

The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce invites residents of Morgan County to a four-in-one event, State of Communities, this February and March.

The purpose, mission and vision of State of Communities is to provide public officials and key leaders that serve their district a forum to present the state of their district to the community.

Presenters include Morgan County commissioners and commission chairman, town mayors, local principals and local fire and police chiefs, who will use this opportunity to highlight their district’s progress in economic development, education and community involvement and will present an annual report to the community regarding the accomplishments of the past year and an outlook for the year ahead.

“The Hartselle Area Chamber serves many more than just the City of Hartselle. Our reach extends to all the communities in Morgan County,” explained Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Missy Evans. “Our sister communities need opportunities to gather, rub shoulders with and hear from their community leaders.

“They have unique needs and their own special identity,” Evans added. “We want to support their growth and help facilitate strong communication channels with their residents and their leaders.”

The State of Communities events will be held at central locations within each district from 5-7 p.m. The schedule is as follows:

  • Feb. 24: District 3 – Falkville/Eva – Falkville High School Auditorium
  • March 1: District 2 – Danville – Danville High School library
  • March 3: District 4 – Lacey’s Spring/Cotaco/Brewer – Location TBA
  • March 10: District 1 – Priceville/Somerville – Location TBA
