Girls Basketball Roundup: Priceville improves to 4-0 in area play

The Priceville Lady Bulldogs picked up their fourth area win with a 60-point victory on the road at Randolph. The win was their 13th of the season.

Priceville 73, Randolph, 13
Eleven players scored for Priceville in the Lady Bulldogs’ 73-13 win over Randolph. Priceville led 23-4 after the first quarter and 48-4 at halftime.

Reagan Watkins led the Lady Bulldogs with 18 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Lauren Hames added 15 points and five rebounds, while Natalie Cartee scored nine. In her first game in more than a month, Olivia Gann finished with four points and a rebound.

Priceville improved to 13-3 overall and 4-0 in area play.

West Point 73, Priceville 45
The Lady Bulldogs fell 73-45 on the road at West Point. Priceville trailed 26-22 at halftime and was outscored 47-23 in the second half.

Hames finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and two blocks to lead the Lady Bulldogs. Leslie Hames had 12 points and two steals, while Watkins added eight and 10 rebounds. Gracin Prater finished with seven points, six rebounds, eight assists and three steals.

DANVILLE

Danville 50, East Lawrence 31
The Lady Hawks improved to 3-1 in area play following their 50-31 win over East Lawrence. Danville led 26-12 at halftime.

Alyssa Brooks finished with 11 points to lead Danville. Olivia Vest had six points and 16 rebounds.

Makayla Austin led East Lawrence with a game-high 14 points.

BREWER

Guntersville 44, Brewer 40
The Lady Patriots fell to 0-3 in area play following their four-point loss to Guntersville.

Hope West finished with a double-double, 11 points and 15 rebounds to lead Brewer. Gracie Vest had eight points and nine rebounds, while Lilly Yancey had six points and six rebounds.

Scottsboro 47, Brewer 35
Brewer dropped a 47-35 decision to Scottsboro at home. The Lady Patriots trailed 16-13 after the first quarter and 21-17 at halftime. The Lady Wildcats pulled away in the third, outscoring Brewer 12-5 to lead 33-22 heading into the fourth.

West had a game-high 21 points and five rebounds to lead the Lady Patriots. Chloe Romine added seven points and four steals, while Yancey had four points and five rebounds.

FALKVILLE

Cold Springs 50, Falkville 46
The Lady Blue Devils fell to 0-5 in area play following their 50-46 loss on the road at Cold Springs last Friday. Falkville led 13-2 following the first quarter and 24-18 at halftime before being outscored 32-22 in the second half.

Abbey Grace Tomlin finished with 11 points to lead Falkville. Liza Wallace scored 10 points, while Ellie Cate Hill and Ella Wallace had nine points each.

Winston County 52, Falkville 44
The Lady Blue Devils fell to the undefeated Lady Yellowjackets, succumbing to a second-half surge by Winston County.

Falkville led 16-12 after the first quarter and 29-21 at halftime, but the Lady Yellowjackets outscored the Lady Blue Devils 31-15 in the second half to come from behind and get the area win.

Hill led Falkville with 13 points and six rebounds. Elli Lorance had 13 points, and Tomlin added seven and six rebounds.
