Barkley Bridge students line up around the building Dec. 10, waiting on a special visitor to arrive. Dr. Beth Davis led students in singing “Must be Santa,” and Santa Claus arrived to lead students in a few Christmas cheers. Santa then shared the importance of literacy with BBE. He left each child a wrapped book to read during Christmas break. BBE librarian Jamie Dutton and Santa encouraged students to pass books along to others after finishing because a book is a gift meant to be opened many times.
