Lacey’s Spring man faces solicitation charges

A Lacey’s Spring man is in custody following a felony arrest warrant.

Dec. 14 Morgan County Sheriff’s Office investigators obtained a felony arrest warrant on Cecil Anthony West for electronic solicitation of a child. The charges are the result of an investigation that began Nov. 7.

Dec. 16 investigators, with the assistance of the sheriff’s office patrol division, attempted to arrest West at his residence in the 9000 block of Highway 36 East, but he was not home at the time. Shortly afterward, investigators observed West traveling in a vehicle on Highway 36 in the area of East Upper River Road and initiated a traffic stop at Highway 36 E and Lower Dry Creek Road.

West, 57, of Lacey’s Spring, was arrested and charged with electronic solicitation of a child. He was transported to and booked in the Morgan County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
