Marx Optical Thanksgiving Tournament: Priceville wins three

Priceville improved to 4-1 to start the season with three victories in the Marx Optical Thanksgiving Tournament, hosted by the Bulldogs.

Priceville 66, Rogers 33
The Bulldogs (2-1) jumped out to a 12-1 first-quarter lead and extended it to 36-8 by halftime on their way to the 66-33 win over the Pirates.

Cole Lindeman led Priceville with 17 points, while Caleb Pedings added 10 points. Chris Thomas had eight points, and Elijah Hopkins added six. Jake Langlois had eight rebounds.

Priceville 63, Good Hope 59
The Bulldogs (3-1) grabbed the lead early in the second quarter and then never trailed on their way to a 63-59 win. Priceville led by as much as 10 points early in the fourth and held off a Raider rally to get the victory.

Lindeman led three Priceville players who scored double digits with 17 points. Hopkins added 14, and Thomas had 10. Langlois led the team with nine rebounds.

Priceville 41, West Limestone 28
The Bulldogs, who led 25-22 going into the fourth quarter, held West Limestone to six points in pulling away for the 41-28 win.

Thomas scored a game-high 15 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead Priceville (4-1). Lindeman and Hopkins each had nine points.

Danville Hawks
Danville also picked up wins at the Marx Optical Tournament, triumphing over West Point and Good Hope.

Danville 50, West Point 40
The Hawks (3-1) led 7-5 after the first quarter and extended it to 27-21 by halftime. They outscored the Warriors 23-19 in the second half to get the victory.

Witten Morgan led the Hawks with 14 points, while Carter Holladay added 10. Kohl Randolph had nine points and eight rebounds. JoJo Whisenant also had nine points.

Danville 59, Good Hope 58
The Hawks (4-1) built a 37-23 lead at the break and held off a Good Hope rally in the second half to get a one-point victory over the Raiders.

Randolph led the way for Danville with 17 points, while Morgan added 14. Holladay finished with nine points.

Brewer Patriots

Brewer dropped games to East Limestone, West Limestone and West Point at the Marx Optical tourney.

East Limestone 62, Brewer 42
Tamerion Watkins scored 18 points to lead the Patriots (1-4) in the loss to East Limestone.

Hunter Lawrence added nine points and six rebounds. Mac Shadden led the team with nine rebounds.

West Limestone 51, Brewer 50
The Patriots, who trailed 30-27 at halftime, took a 42-40 lead into the fourth quarter but were outscored by three in the one-point loss to the Wildcats.

Watkins scored a game-high 19 points to lead Brewer (1-5). Lawrence added 13 points and Shadden had eight points.

West Point 64, Brewer 59
Watkins led three Brewer players in double digits with 17 points in the five-point loss to West Point. The Warriors led 15-10 after the first and held on for the win.

Shadden had a double-double, 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Austyn Holmes added 10 points.

Falkville Blue Devils
Falkville finished 1-2 at the Hanceville Thanksgiving Tournament with a win over Vinemont and losses to Hanceville and Hayden.

Falkville 63, Vinemont 55
The Blue Devils (6-2) led 20-12 after the first, 31-26 at the break, and extended it to 48-33 heading onto the fourth quarter. They held off a late Vinemont rally for the eight-point victory.

Caden Burnett, who missed a double-double earlier, finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead Falkville. Camden Reid had a team-high 16 points, Avery Miller added 11, and Joshua Bradford had 10.

Hanceville 64, Falkville 51
Miller had 13 points, nine rebounds and four blocks to lead Falkville (5-1) in the opening round loss to the host Hanceville Bulldogs.

Burnett added nine points and 10 rebounds. Reid finished with eight points and six rebounds.
