A single-vehicle crash Oct. 23 has left a Hartselle man critically injured. 

According to the police report, William Douglas Jr. 41, was in the process of exiting a delivery truck when he was struck by the vehicle. Michael Savage, 49, of Leighton was driving the 2019 Toyota Avalon. 

Douglas sustained serious injuries and was transported to North Mississippi Medical Center for treatment. 

The incident occurred at approximately 9:35 a.m. Oct. 23 on Old Highway 20, approximately three miles east of Muscle Shoals. 

Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency continue to investigate.
