Falkville welcomes new business to community 

Brianna and Jonathan Collett will hold their grand opening for their new business, Cross Ties Coffee Company, July 17 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are located at 46 Railroad Avenue, Falkville. They will be open Thursday and Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. They plan to add more days and hours in the future.   

Their menu thus far includes an assortment of sandwich options, homemade sides and pastries. They will also feature premium quality coffee from Tapachula, Mexico, partnering with a non-profit, missions-based company called Send Me Refuge. Cross Ties will be the exclusive provider for this coffee.  

They will also serve regular black coffee and expresso-based drinks, as well as chai tea and specialty Italian sodas.  

Everyone is invited to come out and help celebrate the grand opening July 17. 

Danville Middle School Announcements   

Danville Middle School will be hosting a fifth-grade/new-to-campus orientation Aug. 8 from 2-4 p.m.   

Danville will have Locker Day Aug. 2 for the eighth grade from 9-10 a.m. and the seventh grade from 10-11 a.m.  

The fifth and sixth grades will not have lockers this year. They will need bring clear or mesh backpacks.   

Falkville High School Cheerleader News 

Congratulations go out this week to Falkville High School cheer coach Julie Holmes and the Blue Devil cheer squad. They enjoyed spending a week recently at the Auburn University Cheer Camp, where they collected several team and individual awards.
