Spring rec sports start April 5

Spring sports for Hartselle Parks & Rec will return to the field for the first time in more than a year following the cancellation of this past season because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Games will begin April 5 for baseball and softball and April 6 for soccer.

Baseball will field 25 teams in four age groups — eight in T-ball, seven in 6U, six in 8U and four in 10U. T-ball, 6U and 8U begin April 5, with 10U starting April 6.

Softball boasts 12 teams in five age groups. Five teams will play 6U. Three in 8U will play with Morgan County, two in 10U will play with Morgan County, three in 12U will play teams from Falkville, Priceville and Trinity and two in 16U will play teams from Decatur.

Soccer has 24 teams in five age groups this season: five in 4U, six in 6U, seven in 8U, three in 10U playing with two teams from Danville and two in 13U playing with teams from Arab and Danville.
