Where will you be?

By Todd Barrier

As COVID-19 numbers continue to go down and mask mandates are lifted, many churches are transitioning back to normal classes/services.

One thing this pandemic has done is increase our dependence on technology. The live streaming of church services and classes has exploded.

Now that health officials are beginning to agree that things are safer, it’s imperative that we get back to our local congregations.

I completely understand many still have concerns and reasons to stay home and stay safe.

For those of us who are healthy and/or vaccinated, when our health officials and church leaders say it’s safe to gather again, we need to heed the words of Hebrews 10:25“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Coming together to worship God on the first day of the week is not only a command from God, it is a blessing to His church. When we gather, we form a connection through God that can help us through good and bad times.

So as things seem to be getting better, heed the advice of qualified and trustworthy people/leaders/officials, and when we are called to come back – if you are able and healthy – come back to your local congregation!

Technology is a blessing and is helpful when we need it, but don’t let it become a crutch or hinderance in your relationship with God.

When your congregation safely opens back up fully, where will you be?
