Tiny Andrews

Tiny Andrews, 87, passed away peacefully at her home March 13.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Emma Smith Lott; husband of 52 years, Harold “Andy” Andrews; sister, Ruby Boyer; and brothers, Leon, Howard, Luther and J.I. Lott. 

She is survived by six children, Charlotte (Lauren) Swanson, Susan (Vann) Morrow, Danny (Patty) Andrews, Larry (Faye) Andrews, Timbo (Rebecca) Andrews and Pat (Tim) McKissack; a sister, Gene Blaxton; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her beloved
Maltese, Lady. 

Tiny was a member of Forrest Chapel UMC. She loved spending time with family and watching her grandchildren play ball. She served for many years at Mr. Catfish, Dot’s and finally Mr. Henry’s, retiring at age 85. 

The body was laid in state from 10-11 a.m. March 20, with the funeral service at 11 a.m., at Peck Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jeri Hunt officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. 

The family wanted to especially thank Hospice of the Valley for their care and compassion in her final days.  

Pallbearers were Taylor Stinnett, Zach Andrews, Josh Morrow, Heath Morrow, Brodie Morrow and Tyler Andrews. 

Jimmie Harold Johnson 

Somerville 

Funeral service for Jimmie Harold Johnson, 78, was held March 19 at 1 p.m. at the graveside at Shiloh Baptist Church with Geoff Halbrooks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.  

Burial was in Shiloh Baptist Cemetery. No public visitation was held. 

Mr. Johnson died March 16 at his residence. He was born Oct. 3, 1942, in Morgan County to Ruby Coleman Johnson and Willie Fern Kyle Johnson. Mr. Johnson was employed as a maintenance foreman for the Northeast Morgan County Water Department, where he retired after 25 years of service.  

He was married to his wife, Janice, for 57 years and was a good family man who greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to garden and enjoyed carpentry work and working his hayfields. 

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Janice Swader Johnson, Somerville; sons, Jeff Johnson (Cathy), Somerville, and Jeremy Johnson (Nikki), Somerville; daughter, Janna Parker (Shane), Hartselle; sisters, Mary Nell Day, Somerville, and Peggy Hardage, Lacey’s Spring; grandchildren, Erica Johnson Riner (Jeremy), Eli Parker, Kati Parker, Cole Johnson, Kallie Parker, Emma Johnson, Abby Johnson, Kyle Johnson and Chloe Johnson; and one great–grandchild. 

Pallbearers were Cole Johnson, Eli Parker, Tommy Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Ed Rink and Josh Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Dale Hall, Allen Kirby, Brian Downs, Gary Day and Phillip Gurley. 

Dwight “Buddy” Selby
Somerville
Funeral service for Dwight “Buddy” Selby, 59, was held March 19 at 2 p.m. at Valhermoso Holiness Church with Bro. Tim Patrick officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Valhermoso Holiness Cemetery.  

Mr. Selby died March 15 at his residence. He was born Jan. 16, 1962, in Madison County to Dewey Lee Selby and Joann Johnson Selby. He was an Alabama fan, and he enjoyed fishing and loved working outside, mowing and doing yard work. He was self-employed as a block mason, until his passing.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Sam Selby. 

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Thompson Selby, Somerville; son, Buddy Selby (Amber), New Hope; daughters, Deidre Selby, Hartselle, and Kimberly Goodwin (Steven), Arab; brothers, Rodger Selby (Lillie), Lacey’s Spring, Ken Selby (Darlene), Union Grove, and Mike Elledge (Tammy), Lacey’s Spring; sisters, Rhonda Ballew (Phillip), Union Grove, Mary Selby (Randy), Woodville, and Christine Johnson, Somerville; and 10 grandchildren. 

Pallbearers were Phillip Ballew, Ralph Burgett, Ricky Thompson, Chris Garret, Danny Selby and Ronnie Sharp. 

Jimmy Lewis Summerford
Hartselle
Funeral service for Jimmy Lewis Summerford, 74, was held March 19 at 2 p.m. at Hartselle Church of Christ with Phillip Hines and Andy Dukes officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in
Roselawn Cemetery.  

Mr. Summerford died March 17 at his residence. He was born March 10, 1947, in Morgan County to LC Summerford and Mary Frances Butler Summerford. He was employed by Bunge Corporation as a computer operator; he retired with more than 40 years of service.  

He was a graduate of Decatur High School and was a member and deacon of the Hartselle Church of Christ for more than 30 years.  

He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.  

An avid fan, booster and contributor, Jimmy Summerford was an active member of the local sports community. With a passion for Hartselle football, he supported his hometown favorites at games both near and far.
His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Beverly Summerford; sons, Randy Summerford (Mary) and Will Summerford (Tara); daughter, Megan Summerford (Travis); sister, Martha Nolen (C.K.); sister-in-law, Becky Sittason; and five grandchildren, Hunter, Haley, Wesley, Katie Beth and Emma.
Pallbearers were Bobby Fox, Hunter Bazzell, Adam Warren, Steve Wiley, Michael Sanders, Greg Teague, Keith Wilemon and Scott Forsythe. Honorary pallbearers were Wesley Summerford, Shawn Sanders, Dickie Glenn, Glenn Thompson and the elders and deacons of Hartselle Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hartselle Church of Christ or to “Amazon Hope” @ 107 Broadwell Road, Boaz, AL 35956. 

James Earl “Billy” Weeks 

Decatur 

Funeral service for James Earl “Billy” Weeks, 73, was held March 23 at 6 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wade Stover officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.  

Mr. Weeks died March 20 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Nov. 9, 1947, in Morgan County to Walter Wiley Weeks and Margaret Ann Garrison Weeks. He was a self-employed construction roofer prior to his retirement.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Theo Weeks.  

Survivors include three sons, James Weeks, Lamar Weeks and Jason Weeks (Jennifer); two daughters, Jennifer Hitt (Josh) and Lynn Ballenger (John); one brother, Ricky Weeks; two sisters, Melian Hardin and Sue Jones; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
