The Hartselle Tigers boys and girls soccer teams opened play in the Morgan County Soccer Tournament Monday. The tournament is being played at the Jack Allen Recreation Complex and Austin High School.

Hartselle is led by senior Keegan Zanda, a University of Mobile signee. He currently leads the country in scoring for the spring season, having scored 34 goals and four assists in 12 games this season. He is averaging six points per game and scored 13 goals in the Tigers’ three-game winning streak leading up to the county tournament – East Limestone 9-1, Decatur 3-1 and Muscle Shoals 8-0.

The boys entered the tournament with a 9-2-1 record. They will have pool games with Priceville, Danville and Brewer.

The girls enter the tournament with a 3-6 record. They will face Priceville, Decatur and West Morgan in their pool games.

Pool matches were scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The semifinals will be Thursday, and the championship matches will be Saturday.
