Richard “Ebb” Kimbrough

A graveside funeral service and interment for Richard “Ebb” Kimbrough, 67, was held Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. at Johnson Chapel Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Kimbrough died Feb. 8 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Feb. 3, 1954, in Tennessee, to Charles Garrett Kimbrough and Lottie May Buck Kimbrough. He was a great father, a wonderful husband and a lover of music, and he was a member of the Limestone Creek Band. He loved worship music and wrote his own music. He was employed by General Motors (Saginaw Steering) doing industrial maintenance prior to his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include wife Sarah Kimbrough; sons Will Kimbrough and Seth Kimbrough; daughters Emily Barkley (Aaron) and Carrie Thompson; brother Gary Kimbrough; sister Beth Deegan (Dan); and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were family and friends.

George Dutton

Hartselle

Funeral service for George Dutton, 73, was held Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. at East Highland Baptist Church with Bro. Walter Blackman, Bro. Jimmy Smith and Bro. Charles Stone officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.

Mr. Dutton died Feb. 8 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born March 29, 1947, in Morgan County to Ralph Charlie “R.C.” Dutton and Mildred Jane Cobb Dutton. George was a very faithful member of the East Highland Baptist Church, and he loved his church and church family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. George enjoyed talking and carrying on conversations with everyone, as he was a people person. He loved woodworking and building unique things and carpentry. He was employed by The Decatur Daily as the mailroom foreman prior to his retirement.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 53 years, Faye Keel Dutton, and his parents. Survivors include his son, Jeff Dutton (Sherry); daughter, Kristi Jenkins (Joey); sisters, Margaret Cook and Karen Wells (Anthony); grandchildren, Dalton Jenkins (Savannah), Hannah Kodra (Kody) and Chris Reeves; and great-grandchildren, Ivy Jane Jenkins and Rylan Reeves.

Pallbearers were Dalton Jenkins, Kody Kodra, Doug Keel, Frankie Lackey, Chuck Keenum and Anthony Wells.

Linda Sue Morgan

Hartselle

Ms. Linda Sue Morgan, 68, died Feb. 7 at Huntsville Hospital. She was born April 20, 1952, in Illinois, to Harland Joe Revels and Gean Prodehl Revels. She was a manager for Valley Village Company prior to her passing. She was Catholic in her faith. Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors include ex-husband, Robert Hendricks; sons, Joey Thornton and Kenney Thornton; and sisters, Darlene Casteel and Janie Cibulsky. No services are scheduled at this time.

Odie Lee Lawrence Danville A graveside funeral service and interment for Odie Lee Lawrence, 95, was held Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. at Friendship Cemetery, south of Danville, with the Rev. Tim Herron officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Lawrence died Feb. 9 at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born March 25, 1925, in Morgan County to Jack Steele and Fannie Garnett Steele. Odie was a longtime member of the Pattillo Street Church of God. She was a farmer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenzy Lawrence, her parents and 12 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Margie Hensley; son, Willard Lawrence (Martha); four grandchildren, Wade Lawrence (Janet), Ben Lawrence (Ann), Angie Posey (Anthony) and Tommy Hensley (Kayla); and four great-grandchildren, Britton Suddith (Michael), Autumn Hensley, Hunter Hensley and Landon Hensley.

Pallbearers were Wade Lawrence, Ben Lawrence, Anthony Posey, Stevie Steele, Bobby McCormick and Ricky Steele. Honorary pallbearer was Michael Schuster.

Betty Foster McNutt

Hartselle

Funeral service for Betty Foster McNutt, 80, was held Feb. 13 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Reeves officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Caddo Cemetery in Lawrence County.

Mrs. McNutt died Feb. 10 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born Jan. 11, 1941, in Morgan County to Johnnie Earl Foster and Madgie Pearl Riddle. She was a homemaker for her family, which she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry McNutt, her parents and two daughters, Stephanie Grantland and Kimberly Ann McNutt.

Survivors include son Gary McNutt; granddaughter, Rachael Major (Brandon); grandsons, Ryan Grantland and Aren McNutt; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Charlee Major.

Pallbearers were Gary McNutt, Aren McNutt, Ryan Grantland, Chad Birdsong, Fred Stephenson and Johnny Foster.

Amanda Freeman

Hartselle

Funeral service for Amanda Freeman, 43, was held Feb. 12 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.

Mrs. Freeman died Feb. 10 at UAB Hospital, Birmingham. She was born Dec. 10, 1977, in Morgan County to Charles Lee Akers and Brenda Ann Hornbuckle Akers.

Amanda was a graduate of the 1996 class of Hartselle High School. She very much loved her family and her children, and she loved “Big.” She cared about everybody and loved to help others and make people happy. She enjoyed sports, especially basketball, and loved her pets.

Amanda had a very big, loving heart and never met a stranger. She was a very strong person, who stayed strong throughout her sickness. She was the bravest mother and friend and was the “Rock” of her families’ lives. She worked for Treehouse Dentistry prior to her passing. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Akers.

Survivors include husband, Brad Freeman; sons, Tucker Freeman and Brayden Freeman; mother, Brenda Hornbuckle Akers; brother, Jason Akers; and two nieces whom she loved as daughters, Monica and Maggie Akers. Pallbearers were Jason Akers, Isaac Morris, Daniel Morris, Jacob Faulk, Jeremy Jeffries and Chuck Gill. In honor of Amanda, please wear your “TEAM AMANDA” shirt for the service.

Bessie Hankins Breeding

Funeral service for Bessie Hankins Breeding, 85, was held Feb. 13 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel

with Bro. Roger Ammons officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Breeding died Feb. 10 at her residence. She was born Nov. 20, 1935, in Morgan County to Murphy Hankins and Minnie Briscoe Hankins. She was employed by Copeland Corporation, working in production, prior to her retirement.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Vandon Breeding, her parents and five brothers.

Survivors include son, Myron Breeding (Carla); daughters, Pam Hartzog (David) and Regina Jenkins (Ricky); sister, Shirley Atkins (Paul); six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were family members.

Johnny E. Watson

Funeral service for Johnny E. Watson, 65, was held Feb. 14 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mahlon LeCroix officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Shoal Creek Cemetery.

Feb. 11, our Savior called home one of his own. Johnny Estes Watson, born Feb. 22, 1955, to Ora Vance Watson and Mary Clements Watson. He was a son, a husband, a father and a friend to many. He was able to peacefully pass surrounded by family and friends at his home.

He was preceded in death by his father Vance, his brother Jerry and his sister Linda. He is survived by his wife Debbie, his daughters Lisa and Keri, his son John Michael, his granddaughter Adleigh, his mother Mary and his sister Brenda.

Anyone who knew him, knew his love for sports. If you’ll listen close, we are certain you’ll hear a little Roll Tide from the choir of angels. He was employed at Goodyear Mills as an area manager prior to his retirement.

Pallbearers were Tom Counts, Ronald Goodwin, AL Abbott, David Puckett, Tommy Adcock and Ronnie Adcock.

Melba L. Addis

Funeral service for Melba L. Addis, 80, was held Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Virgil Crisp officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Addis died Feb. 8 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born May 13, 1940, in Morgan County to William Lymon Slate and Ruth Kathleen Marshall Slate. She worked in the banking and investments industry, prior to her retirement. She loved her family and enjoyed playing cards. She attended the Hartselle Church of the Nazarene and was a very special, kind, loving and caring person.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Addis, and a daughter, Sarah Blevins, and her parents.

Survivors include a son, Keith Blevins; daughter, Penny Blevins Strickland; stepdaughters, Amy and Jeannie; sisters, Sarah Halbrooks Plemons (Horace), Merleen Maples (Billy Don) and Marsha Kennedy (Gordon); and grandchildren, Keith Jr., Timmy, Victor, Matthew, Cheryl, Jacob and Mallory.

Pallbearers were A.J. Maples, Victor Bolderas, Timmy Strickland, Matthew Blevins, Andy Laush and Pat Halbrooks.

Bebe Helen Halbrooks Reid

Danville

Funeral service for Bebe Helen Halbrooks Reid, 80, was held Feb. 14 at 3 p.m. at Pattillo Street Church of God with Bro. Tim Herring and Bro. Danny Pitts officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Herring Cemetery.

Mrs. Reid died Feb. 12 at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born June 24, 1940, in Morgan County to Lonnie Howard Halbrooks and Ann Mae Orr Halbrooks. She was a homemaker for her family, a member of the Pattillo Street Church of God and was a very sweet wife, mother and grandmother. She was also a wonderful cook. She loved everyone she met.

Preceding her in death were two husbands, James Kenneth McCormick and Tilman Reid; her parents; a brother, Charles Halbrooks; and a sister, Margret Cole.

Survivors include one son, Kenny McCormick, and a grandson, Cody McCormick (Courtney).

Pallbearers were Harlon Halbrooks, Ronnie Halbrooks, Cody McCormick, Anthony Watson, Jason McCormick and Jeremy McCormick. Honorary pallbearer was Dwight Cole.

Jamison Byron “Jamie” Manly

Decatur

Funeral service for Jamison Byron “Jamie” Manly, 51, of Decatur was held Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phil Waldrop, the Rev. Joe McKaig and Jason Barrett officiating. Burial was in the Owen Chapel Cemetery at Youngstown in Lawrence County. Peck Funeral Home directed.

Mr. Manly was born Feb. 8, 1970, in Lawrence County to Ron Manly and Gail White Manly. He passed away Feb. 13 at his residence.

Jamison was a member of Decatur Baptist Church for 25 years. He asked Jesus into his heart at age 12 and was a witness of Jesus’ saving grace. He was a loving son to his parents and wonderful brother to his brother.

Survivors include his parents, Ron and Gail Manly, and brother, Michael Manly. He is also survived by a large family of loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers were Billy Wayne White, Tyron White, Andy White, Phillip Manly, Bart Stephenson and Jonathan Sivley.
