Sarah Walker & Tad McFall – March 21, 2020

Photos by Joy Haynes

The Proposal: March 19, 2020, Tad proposed outside the rock-climbing gym where we had our first date. This was two days before the wedding. Everything was looking like it would shut down, so we decided March 16 that we were going to get married and spend the upcoming quarantine together.

The Wedding Dress: I wore mom’s wedding dress. My mother-in-law worked on it to make it more modern looking. I thought I would never ever wear it, but the joke was on me; it fit like a glove, and it was perfect

Favorite Moment from the Big Day: After the ceremony, when Tad and I left, and we were alone for the first time. I also enjoyed being at the reception with just my family. It was intimate and sweet. We had a morning ceremony, so we had breakfast foods, and we ate with everyone around us because only family and my two best friends came. It was perfect!

Favorite Wedding Details:  We walked down the aisle to Ball and Chain by McKenzie Lockhart. I loved that it was small and in the morning. I loved that it was simple and last minute, and I loved getting to wear my mom’s dress. That week was pretty low stress for me. My sister, mom, mother-in-law and sister-in-law did everything. I got to just relax and have a fun weekend. It was low stress the day of the ceremony  intimate and fun. I love wildflowers, so the flowers from Sam’s were perfect. I loved having the rest of the day to spend with my new husband, as well.

What You Are Doing Now: We live in Huntsville. Tad is an engineer, and I am finishing my third semester of nursing school. We are excited to go on a honeymoon this coming summer if COVID allows! We are planning a week in a tropical place and then a week-long Alaskan cruise!
