Falkville Fire and Rescue members had a busy month during October with a total of 81 calls for service. Additionally, the department also provided medical standby for all of the Falkville High School football games.  

The calls the department received during the month of October were categorized: EMS-47, Fire-6, Car crash-20, HAZMAT-3, Weather-1 and Other-4.  

The department appreciates all of the volunteers for their time and dedication. Thanks to all of their hard work, 93 percent of the department’s call were responded to during the month.

Week of Prayer for International Missions  

Nov. 29 through Dec. 6 the Lottie Moon Christmas offering and Week of Prayer for International Missions will be held. For 175 years, our gospel witness has gone forward without interruption. Everyone’s help is appreciated to ensure that those without Christ continue to hear the gospel message through the IMB Missionaries.  

“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne and to the Lamb!” (Revelation 7:9-10)  

Falkville High School Activities  

Congratulations go out this week to Mikell Philyaw and Evan Klocek. Their boat finished 11th overall in the Alabama BASS Nation High School tournament at Wheeler Lake. The Falkville team finished just outside the top three. This was a great start for the Falkville team.  

Falkville High School expresses thanks this week to Sen. Arthur Orr for the grant that was given to Coach Tyler Mitchell. The grant will be used for improvements on the Falkville High School campus.
