Danny Ray Sharp
Somerville 

Funeral service for Danny Ray Sharp, 67, of Somerville, was held Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Lang officiating. Burial was at Gum Springs Cemetery.  

Mr. Sharp died Oct. 31 at his residence. He was born Nov. 18, 1952, in Illinois to Marvin Milton Sharp and Willie Mae Stinson Sharp. He was retired from Tyson, where he worked as a hatchery manager.  

Mr. Sharp was an avid Alabama fan, an artist, and he enjoyed playing golf. His pride and joy were
his children and grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors Include one son, Eric Sharp; three daughters, Erin Miller (Brandon), Elizabeth Bond (Karl) and Christy Elwell Davis; two brothers, Roger Sharp and Bobby Sharp (Teresa); one sister, Toni Couey (Michael); and six grandchildren, Jack, Caroline, Hayden, Wyatt, Sawyer and Harper. Pallbearers were Eric Sharp, Brandon Miller, Karl Bond, Ted Dunaway, Carlton Turney and Steve Edmonson. 

Dewain “Stick” Keel 

Hartselle 

Graveside service for Dewain “Stick” Keel, 71 of Hartselle, was held Nov. 4 at noon at New Center Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Ben Bates and Bro. Edward King officiating under the direction of Peck Funeral Home.  

Mr. Keel was born June 3, 1949, in Morgan County to Howard Charles Keel and Bertie Lee Bracken Keel. He passed away Oct. 31 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.  

He was a 1969 graduate of Morgan County High School, where he was an outstanding basketball player, winning many awards. He loved to sing and was known for having a beautiful bass voice. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartselle. He was an avid hunter of both deer and quail. He loved woodworking. He was retired from Joe Wheeler EMC, where he worked as a lineman and foreman.  

Mr. Keel was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Fay Dutton.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay Keel; daughter Pamela Keel Parker and husband David of Gulf Shores; brother Doug Keel and wife Denise of Hartselle; sisters Teresa Lackey and husband Frankie of Hartselle and Kasonyia Briggs and husband Shannon of Hartselle; granddaughter Chelsea Smith and husband Cody of Falkville; and great–grandson Mac Smith. 

Pallbearers were Cody Smith, Kody Vest, Chandler Briggs, Dalton Jenkins, Joey Jenkins and Jeff Dutton. Honorary pallbearers were Buddy Beavers, Larry Shaddin, Levert Blankenship, Jackie Coulter and David Blankenship. 

Earl J. Wilhite 

Hartselle 

Funeral service for Earl J. Wilhite, 95, was held Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.  

Mr. Wilhite passed away Nov. 2 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 1, 1924, in Morgan County to James A. Wilhite and Audrey Augusta Tucker Wilhite. He was self-employed in the construction industry prior to his retirement.  

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Oleta Wilhite; his parents; and eight brothers and sisters. 

Survivors include one son, Stan Wilhite (Cathy), Decatur; one daughter, Linda Kay Walters, Decatur; three grandchildren, John Harold Owens III (Alla), El Paso, Texas, Bruce Owen Wilhite (Sarah), Hartselle, and Scott Allen Wilhite (Maegan), Athens; and six great-grandchildren, John Harold Owens IV, Bruce Owen Wilhite Jr., Kathryn Dale Wilhite, Sullivan Francis Wilhite, Harrison Scott Wilhite and Oliver Freeman Wilhite. 

Pallbearers were Bruce Wilhite, Scott Wilhite, Bobby Horton, Keith Horton, Richie Henthrone and Lonnie Williams. 

Hazel Hogan 

Hartselle 

Graveside funeral service and interment for Hazel Hogan, 93, were held Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. at Salem Methodist Cemetery with Bro. Harold Thompson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.  

Mrs. Hogan died Nov. 3 at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 23, 1927, in Lawrence County to Grady Irvin Stover and Myrtie Lavale Lowery Stover. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker for her family, whom she loved dearly. She faithfully attended Salem Methodist Church and was a good Christian lady.
She was preceded in death her husband, Cecil Hogan, and her parents. 

Survivors include one son, Stanley Hogan (Betty), Hartselle; one daughter, Martha Cosgrove (Joe), Hartselle; one brother, Milton Stove (Becky), Huntland, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Kelly Kurtz (Glenn), Helena, and Haley Hand (Chad), Arab; great–grandchild Cash Hand; and sspecial friends and neighbors A.J., Emily and Samuel Barkley.  

Pallbearers were family  and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Salem Methodist Church or to the Hartselle Fire Department. 

James Harold Pounders

Mr. James Harold Pounders passed away Nov. 3 at his residence.
He was born July 5, 1941. A private graveside funeral service will be held. 

Hazel Lewis 

Hartselle 

Funeral service for Hazel Lewis, 79, was held Nov. 7 at noon at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rusty Hodges and Geoff Halbrooks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.  

Mrs. Lewis died Nov. 2. She was born May 16, 1941, in West Virginia to Elisha Smith and Bertha Fortner Smith. She was employed at the Sandwich Shop prior to her retirement. She was a loving mother and grandmother and lived for God. She loved having fun and playing cards.  

She went to Heaven to be with her husband of 55 years, Clarence Lewis, who preceded her in death, along with her daughter, Denise Posey, three sisters, six brothers, her parents and her great–grandson, Michael McClendon. 

Survivors include two daughters, Shelly Martin (Steven), Hartselle, and Rhonda Livingston (Rickey), Priceville; two sons, Charles Lewis (Kelly), Terra Alta, West Virginia, and Ernie Lewis, Terra Alta, West Virginia; son-in-law Scott Posey; one brother, Ed Smith (Carol), Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 30 great–grandchildren; and three great–great–grandchildren.  

Pallbearers were Patrick Livingston, Matt Wilson, Phillip Gurly, Russell Brown, Cronan Conell and Larry Martin.  

The family wishes to express “thank you’s” to Hospice of the Valley for the wonderful care they gave Mrs. Lewis. 

Lois Ann Mangum
Hartselle 

A memorial funeral service for Lois Ann Mangum, 69, was held Nov. 7 at noon at Abundant Life Church. 

Mrs. Mangum died Nov. 3 at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children. She was born July 4, 1951, in Tennessee to Cleo F. Dixon and Robbie Neeley Toome Dixon. She was a dietician for Huntsville Hospital prior to her retirement and was a member of Abundant Life Church.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Mangum Sr., and her parents. 

Survivors include one son, Donald Self; two step-sons, Frank Mangum Jr. (Patty) and Matthew Mangum (Demaree); two daughters, Dana Sanderson (Thomas) and Amber Mullins; two step-daughters, Terri Bowen (Patrick) and Dixie Leslie (Bear); one sister, Wanda Ashby; 11 grandchildren; and seven great–grandchildren. 

Olivia Grayce Hughes

Graveside funeral service and Interment for Olivia Grayce Hughes, stillborn infant, were held Nov. 7 at 12:30 p.m. at Roundtop Cemetery with the Rev. Curtis Koscheski officiating and Peck Funeral Home
directing.  

Olivia was born to John Brandon Hughes and Amanda Lawrence Hughes and passed away Nov. 2 at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children in Madison County. 

Survivors include her parents, Brandon and Amanda Lawrence Hughes; brother, Benjamin Wayne Hughes; grandparents, Wayne and Sharon Lawrence and Brenda Hughes; two aunts, Brittany Hughes and Shari Madison (Larry); and two cousins, Skylar and Kyle Tapscott. 

James “Jeff” Tidwell

Funeral service for James “Jeff” Tidwell, 78, was held Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ralph Henderson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.  

Mr. Tidwell died Nov. 4 at Hospice Family Care. He was born Feb. 23, 1942, in Morgan County to James Ed Tidwell and Ruby Brown Tidwell. He was employed as a tandem truck driver for Morgan County District 4 prior to his retirement.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers. 

Survivors include one brother, Steve Tidwell (Sherry), Eva, and a host of nieces, nephews, great–nieces and great nephews.  

Pallbearers were Michael Truss, Nathan Calahan, Jason Sanford and William Tidwell. 

Regina Ann Suit Williams
Somerville 

Mrs. Regina Ann Suit Williams died Nov. 5 at her residence. She was born Aug. 20, 1960, in Morgan County to Johnsiey Andy Suit and Laura Josephine Davis Suit.  

Regina was a nail tech and an instructor who loved to do nails and teach others her craft and profession. She enjoyed reading and her vacations, especially her cruises. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly.  

Her parents preceded her in death. 

Survivors include her husband, Nathon Williams; two sons, Corey Williams (Tina) and Barry Williams; one brother, Andy Suit; three sisters, Bobbie Evans, Betty Mazingo and Laura Powers; and eight grandchildren, Victoria Williams, Elizabeth Williams, Isaiah Williams, Brandon Baatrup, Joseph Williams, Kayleb Williams, Matthias Williams and Serenity Williams.

William Ballentine 

Decatur 

A Celebration of Life service for William W. Ballentine, 90, will be held Nov. 14 at 88 Willowbrook St., Decatur, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with a brief serviceat 12:45 p.m.  

He was born July 13, 1930, in Butler, Pennsylvania, to John Ballentine and Dorothy Wilson Ballentine.
William was a supervisor for Cargill, formerly American Maize. He was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 34 years, Joan Ballentine; four brothers, Tichard
Ballentine, Robert Ballentine, Glenn Ballentine and Raymond Ballentine; and one sister, Nancy Jebsen. 

Survivors Include two sons, Ken Ballentine and Tim (Becky) Ballentine; three grandchildren, Briene (Adam) Owens, Niki Ballentine and Amanda Ballentine; four great-grandchildren, Abbey Bice, Charlie Bice, Luke Bice and Alivia Owens; and a sweet friend, Sue Towe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Southern Care New Beacon Hospice. 

Bennie Richard “Ricky” Aycock 

Somerville 

Graveside service for Bennie Richard “Ricky” Aycock, 67, of Somerville was held Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. at Center Springs Cemetery with Brother Edwin Roach officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.  

Mr. Aycock, who was born Oct. 17, 1953, in Morgan County to James Richard Aycock Jr. and Maudie Paralee Hicks Aycock, died Nov. 7 at Huntsville Hospital. 

Mr. Aycock retired from the Irby Company, where he worked as an inside salesman. He loved his family and especially loved supporting and watching his grandchildren in all of the sporting events they participated in. He was a sports fan in general and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  

He was preceded in death by his father and his brothers, Tommie Lynn Aycock and James Olan Aycock. 

He is survived by his wife, Loquetta Aycock; a son, West Aycock (Lacey); two daughters, Labeth Dudley (Brandon) and April Aycock; his mother, Maudie Paralee Hicks Aycock; two brothers, Anthony Aycock (Kathy) and Lexie Aycock (Felicia); six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. 

The family request that in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. Jude’s or to the American Heart Association. 

Thomas “Willard” McCutcheon 

Hartselle 

Funeral service for Thomas “Willard” McCutcheon, 82, of Hartselle was held Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. at Valhermoso Holiness Church with Brother Tim Patrick officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery, with Peck Funeral Home directing.  

Mr. McCutcheon, who was born April 13, 1938, in Valhermoso Springs to Herbert Earl McCutcheon and Grace Lurlene Winton McCutcheon, died Nov. 7 at his home. 

Willard operated a backhoe service for most of his life and loved dirt track racing and playing softball. He loved family and greatly enjoyed playing with his children and grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Frances McCutcheon and children Mikie, Allen, Renee and Amy. 

He is survived by four sons, Joseph Simmons, Patrick Simmons, Timmy McCutcheon and Anthony Veal; seven daughters, Kay Holt, Kristi Fortenberry, Angie Grantland, Sandy Ford, Linda Borden, Cheryl Vinson and Casey Bearden; one brother, Jack McCutcheon; one sister, Mary Frances McCutcheon; 25 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. 

Tyler Grantland, Joseph Simmons, Lane Grantland, David Grantland, Jeremy Fortenberry and Tyler Fortenberry served as pallbearers. 

Martha Crawford 
Hanceville  

A private graveside funeral service and interment, open to family only because of COVID-19, will be held for Martha Crawford, 106, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. at New Salem Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. No visitation is scheduled.  

Mrs. Crawford died Nov. 8 at Hanceville Health and Rehab. She was born June 7, 1914, in Morgan County to Wiley W. Turney and Lula Mote Turney.  

Mrs. Crawford was a school teacher for the Morgan County Schools system, teaching first grade at Cotaco School. She was a member of the Blue Springs Baptist Church, the Daughters of the Revolution, The Eastern Star, the Country Garden Club and Hartselle Garden Club. She was a loving 
wife, mother and grandmother.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Crawford; two sons, John T. Crawford and James W. “Jimmy” Crawford; two brothers, Louis Turney and Joe Grant Turney; and a grandson, Mark Crawford. 
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice in Hanceville. The family would also like to extend their special thanks to Hanceville Nursing Home and Rehab and to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice, for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Crawford.  

Survivors include one granddaughter, Dana Jenkins (Mark); two grandsons, Tom Crawford (Nicki) and 
Jack Crawford; four great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Catherine and Connor Crawford and Weston Jenkins; one sister, Betty Dunn (Richard); and daughter-in-law Nancy Crawford.
