LifeWork Therapy Services breaks ground on new facility

LifeWork Therapy Services celebrated its expansion with a groundbreaking ceremony Oct. 16. Owner Mike Tucker said the new facility, which will include a salon owned by his wife Jana as well as ReVive Therapeutic Massage owned by Crystal Alexander, should be completed by the end of next year.

The new site will be located on the corner of Lane Road and Highway 31. Tucker said it will have a 6,000square foot physical therapy clinic, complete with a dedicated sports medicine area, stateoftheart equipment and a comfortable, spacious physical therapy environment.

Tucker attributes his success to the overwhelming support of the community for a faith-based practice that emphasizes one-on-one individualized care, which he said is much different than today’s typical physical therapy model.

“We’ve been in business since May 2017, and we’ve outgrown our current building,” Tucker said. “We’re very thankful to the community. Hartselle has really rallied around us and helped us grow.”

Tucker added he’s excited to expand and be able to offer the community a “full-service rehab experience.”

“The LifeWork team has more than 130 years of combined experience in the areas of sports medicine, orthopedics, workers’ compensation injuries, geriatrics, pediatrics, neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s and strokes, fall prevention and many specialized areas such as dry needling and manual therapy,” Tucker added. “With the new location, we hope to begin offering community classes including but not limited to CPR training, fall prevention, wellness training and support groups for those dealing with specific diagnoses like Parkinson’s disease.

Mayor Randy Garrison said he is always glad to see the city grow but said it’s even better when an existing business chooses to reinvest in Hartselle. “We appreciate what you all are doing, and we’re glad to have you on this corner because this is a growing area. There’s more to come.”

Tucker said ReVive will specialize in neuromuscular therapy, deep tissue massage, fire cupping and Swedish massage and will be adding Ashiatsu and hot stone massage at the new location. Canvas Salon will open next door to the new LifeWork locationJana has been working as a cosmetologist in Hartselle for 17 years. Her goal is to provide a modern, comfortable and tranquil environment with specialized products and services for Hartselle and the surrounding community,” he said.
