Jerry Thomas Brown

Funeral service for Jerry Thomas Brown, 74, was July 8 at 2 p.m. at Valhermoso Holiness Church with Bro. Tim Patrick and Bro. David Taylor officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in
Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church Cemetery.
Mr. Brown died July 5 at Hospice Family Care. He was born March 12, 1946, in Morgan County to William Thomas “Jimmy” Brown and Eoma Brown. He was a self-employed truck driver until his retirement.
He was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather and great–grandfather. He was a member of the Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church for the biggest portion of his life and received the Holy Ghost July 29, 1973.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Don and Delano Brown and his late wife, Reba Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Brown; two sons, Jerry Brown Jr. (Kathy) and Joseph Brown (Dawn); four daughters, Melody Peden (Eddie), Stacie Sparks (Mike), Heather Spivey and Connie Johnson (Brandon); three sisters, Fran Bond, Fananda Crowe and Gedale Taylor; 16 grandchildren, Misty Martin, Robert Peden, Trinity Peden, Trent Peden, Chelsey Vaughn, Cole Brown, Anthony Sparks, Bubba Sparks, Maranda Sparks, Courtney Spivey, Dyllan Spivey, Gracie Spivey, B.J. Johnson, Natalie Johnson, Brady Brown and Luke Brown; eight great-grandchildren, Sawyer Martin, Ely Martin, Brayden Vaughn, Brooklyn Vaughn, Liam Sparks, Ross Sparks, Thomas Sparks and Arielle Spivey; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Robert Peden, Cole Brown, Anthony Sparks, Bubba Sparks, Dyllan Spivey and B.J. Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Devoy Brown, Randy Thomason, James Vaughn and Matthew Jones.
Linda Gail Holmes
Decatur
Funeral service for Linda Gail Holmes, 73, was July 11 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Fisher officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery (Morgan County).
Mrs. Holmes died July 6 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born Dec. 17, 1946, in Morgan County to Silas Andrew Jones and Mildred Stinson Jones. She was a business owner of Holmes Mobile Homes Service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O.D. Holmes; her parents; a brother, Charles Arnold; and a sister, Lila Jo Jones.
Survivors include one son, Bryan Holmes (Melissa), and one brother, Don “Rabe” Jones.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
Christine Triner
Vinemont
A graveside funeral service and interment for Christine Triner, 97, were held July 9 at 11 a.m. at Center Grove Cemetery in Cullman with Peck Funeral Home directing. No visitation was scheduled.
Mrs. Triner died July 7 at The Terrace at Priceville. She was born Jan. 1, 1923, in Morgan County to William Freeman Fullilove and Luvenia Addeline Williams Fullilove.
She was an owner and manager of Help You Save Real Estate in Las Vegas prior to retiring. Being the social person she was, she loved Las Vegas. She enjoyed painting and playing the organ and was a member of the Eastern Star.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Allan Triner; her parents; a brother, Ludwell Nathaniel Fullilove; and three sisters, Arrie Frances Parrish, Mamie Ruth Sherrill and Charlotte “Bonnie” Hassell.
Survivors include her niece and caregiver, Mary Ann Collum, and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Doris Segars Tapscott
Gulf Shores
Funeral service for Doris Segars Tapscott, 76, was July 9 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Ms. Tapscott died July 5 at her residence. She was born Sept. 1, 1943, in Morgan County to Hubert Leon Segars and Mary Evelyn Massey Segars, who preceded her in death.
She taught school in the Morgan County School System prior to working for Sears Roebuck Company, and then after receiving her real estate license, she moved to Gulf Shores. She worked in Gulf Shores for 27 years in real estate until she retired.
Survivors include one son, Blake Tapscott (Celeste); her friend and companion of 30 years, Bobby Howell; and one brother, Michael Segars (Nancy).
Herbert Vaughan Key
Hartselle
A graveside funeral service and interment for Herbert Vaughan Key, 82, were held July 13 at 1:30 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Vann Wray officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Key died July 9 at Falkville Health Care Center. He was born Oct. 23, 1937, in Morgan County to Herbert Key and Marion Johnson Key. He was a self–employed car salesman until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bobby and Anthony Key.
Survivors include four sons, Charles Key, Curtis Swartzwelder, Garry Swartzwelder and Larry Swartzwelder; one daughter, Velma Swartzwelder; one brother, Travis Key; one sister; and 14 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
