Sheriff’s office notes permit delays
Special to the Enquirer
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is facing an increase in concealed carry permit applications because of ongoing current events across the country, and that increase means a longer wait time for applicants.
According to the MCSO, the increased volume of permit applications is leading to delays in processing.
Officers report they are processing the applications as quickly as possible, but there is currently an extended processing time. The normal three- to five-day process is now taking an average of 12-14 days.
The MCSO said officers are actively increasing their processing capabilities and hope to decrease the processing time quickly.
The MCSO appreciates applicants’ patience.
