Rosemary M. Button

Ms. Rosemary Button passed away May 12 at River City Center. She was born March 20, 1945, in New York to Joseph Richard Willard and Ruth Bertha Riek Willard. She was a Baptist in her faith, a
homemaker and a wonderful mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Tracy Colley, Somerville; two sons, Mark C. Button (Debbi), Somerville, and Todd M. Button, Converse, Texas; one sister, Nancy Bauerle (Frank), Pittsburgh, Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Catherine Button Blevins, Katelyn Stanley and Trista Skinner; and one great-grandchild, Mallorie Tuttle.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Charles “Shorty” Lane
Hartselle
A graveside funeral service and interment for Charles “Shorty” Lane, 78, were held May 15 at 2 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Bro. Harold Thompson and the Rev. Amy Vaughn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Lane died May 13 at his residence. He was born Feb. 21, 1942, in Morgan County to Charles Hubert Lane and Beulah Jane Kitchens Lane.
Mr. Lane was a member of Forrest Chapel United Methodist Church. He loved all of his family, but his grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he was delighted to become a great–grandfather. He loved being outdoors, listening to the radio and following basketball and football, and he always had a good joke to tell.
He was a machinist for Valley Machine and heavy equipment operator.
His parents preceded him in death.
His family would like to extend special thanks to Kindred Hospice as well as Tina, Jessica and Lucy for their kindness and care.
Survivors include his wife, Gayle (Vest) Lane, Hartselle; one son, Gregory Alan Lane (Sheri), Hartselle; one daughter, Robin Suzanne Lane Wilson, Hartselle; two brothers, Pat Lane (Carolyn), Hartselle, and Phil Lane (Sheree), Hartselle; three sisters, Agnes Hill, Hartselle, Trixie Molan (Hubert), Hartselle, and Leese Grantland (Michael), Priceville; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were family members.

Roy Gene Green
Falkville
Graveside service and interment for Roy Gene Green, 78, were held May 5 at 2 p.m. at New Hope North Baptist Church in Falkville, with Bro. James Wray officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Green died May 1 at Cullman Regional Hospital. He was born Oct. 25, 1941, in Morgan County to Percy Eugene Green and Gladys Bertha South Green. He was a retired truck driver for Yellow Freight
Systems. He was a lifelong member and deacon of New Hope North Baptist Church and was also a proud standing member of Teamsters Union Local 402.
Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents and by his late wife, Gerdean Marie Green, and daughter Belinda Dean Green.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Knighten Green; two daughters, Sandy Maples (Lee) and Amanda Bain (Ray); two brothers, Eugene Green; two sisters, Totsie Holcomb and Bonnie Pair; six grandchildren, Zach Maples, Chelsea Pope, Allie Maples, Caleb Sanders, Chloe Bain and Cailyn Bain; three stepsons, Jimmy
Lynn (Michelle), Anthony Williams and Keven Williams; three stepdaughters, Sherry Lynn, Deborah Sanders (Gannon) and Kim Shirley; and 10 step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Zach Maples, Caleb Sanders, David Pope, Lee Maples, Ray Bain and Phillip Holcomb.
Charles “Curly” Turrentine
Hartselle
Funeral service for Charles “Curly” Turrentine, 84, was May 16 at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Teddy Turrentine, Bro. Jack Bailey and Bro. Joe David Bailey officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Turrentine died May 14 at his residence. He was born Feb. 11, 1936, in Morgan County to Robert Earl Turrentine and Edna Lewis Black Turrentine. He was employed by Wolverine Tube prior to his
retirement and also was a carpenter. He was a member of the Decatur Baptist Church and served in many churches in the area. Mr. Turrentine had a heart for missions and served on several mission trips.
Preceding him in death were his parents, six brothers and one sister.
The family would like to thank Comfort Care Hospice for their compassion and care during this time.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Brown Turrentine; one daughter, Melissa Caffery (James); three sons, Eddie Turrentine (Sue), Teddy Turrentine (Lisa) and Freddie Turrentine (Amanda); a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous friends.
Pallbearers were Joshua Turrentine, Cody Smallwood, Adam Glenn, Scottie Davis, Bradley Turrentine, Ronnie Turrentine, Danny Turrentine and Gary Lovell.

James Maurice Stephens
Hartselle
Funeral service for James Maurice Stephens, age 84, of Hartselle was May 17 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Frederick (Tripp) Brogdon III officiating.
James, who passed from this life May 13, was born Oct. 31, 1935, to Erbie Stephens and Mamie York Stephens.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Elaine (Cann) Stephens; three children, Maurice Stephens (Wendy) of Atlanta, Georgia, Dianne (Steve) Krell, of Irondale, and Anita Lynn (Keith) Tolbert of Warrior; three stepchildren, Christopher (DeAnn) Warnick of Hartselle, Christi Rene’ Warnick (Dr. Michael) Bedell, of Reading, England, UK, and Dr. Mark Scott (Cleo) Warnick, of Macon, Illinois; and two sisters, Jeanette Nixon and Linda (Hobart) Cagle.
His grandchild is Alaina (Ryan) Krell Nations. He had eight step–grandchildren and two step–great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Rubenia (Long) Stephens and Linda (Vest) Stephens; and one brother-in-law, James Carl Nixon.
He attended St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Decatur. He answered his country’s call and proudly served a tour of duty in the Army. He was employed 10 years with St. Regis Paper Company and 20 years with Hammermill Paper (International) and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 15 and a lifetime member of the VFW. He was a volunteer for The Carpenter’s Cabinet Food Bank in Falkville.
Pallbearers were Corey Nixon, Gary Barrett, Daryl Calvert, Ryan Nations, Steve Krell and Keith Tolbert. Honorary pallbearers were G.T. Hamilton, John Hale, Michael Nixon and Junior Stover.

Elizabeth (Betty) Loduska Lyda Martin
Hartselle
Private graveside service and interment for Elizabeth (Betty) Loduska Lyda Martin, 96, were held at Hartselle City Cemetery with Phillip Hines officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
Mrs. Martin died May 11 at Columbia Cottage. She was born July 22, 1923, in Buncombe County, North Carolina, to William Clyde Lyda and Velma Louise Thompson Lyda.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Samuel Martin Sr.; and two brothers, Edward Witherby Lyda (Kathryn) and George Suell Lyda (Bettye Dean).
Mrs. Martin was a member of the Hartselle Church of Christ for 61 years, where she served as an elder’s wife for 25 years and taught Sunday school for more than 30 years. She graduated from the Women’s College of the University of North Carolina. Mrs. Martin was very active in the Girl Scouts of North Alabama, serving on the board from 1989-2000. She was the Day Camp director for multiple years, recipient of the Honor Pin in 1993 at the Dallas, Texas, Convention and the recipient of the Juliette Low Award from GSNA in 1993 and the Ruth Lipscomb Service Award in 1998.
She was very active in service clubs, being a member of the Rainbow Garden Club, Book Lovers Club and Friends of Hartselle Public Library and a district officer for the Alabama Federation of Women’s Clubs. She was a two–time recipient of the Diana Award from the Gamma Beta Service Society. She was a Red Cross volunteer and had donated 20-plus gallons of blood. Early in her career, she taught physical education, physiology and anatomy at Florence State College, now UNA, and after moving to Hartselle, she worked as a substitute teacher at Morgan County High School.
Survivors include son James S. Martin Jr. (Elizabeth), Clermont, Georgia; daughter Elizabeth (Betty) Martin Holland, Birmingham; daughter Susan Martin Talmadge (Rick), Decatur; grandchild Nicholas Martin Holland (Carolyn); grandchild Roni Elizabeth Holland Haskell; grandchild James Chester Martin (Selena); grandchild William Hogan Martin; grandchild Christian Edward Martin; two step-grandchildren; great-grandchild Elizabeth Morgan Haskell; great-grandchild Lillian Judith Haskell; great-grandchild Ruby Katheryn Haskell; great-grandchild Anna Cecelia Holland; great-grandchild Samuel Martin Holland; great-grandchild Olivia Ray Holland; two other great-grandchildren; and four step–great-grandchildren.

Frankie Holladay

Funeral service for Frankie Holladay, 76, was May 16 at 2 p.m. at Friendship Church, south of Danville, with minister Nicky Presnell and Bro. Joe Clement officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery.
Mr. Holladay died May 14 at his residence. He was born Feb. 24, 1944, in Morgan County to Bernard Lee Holladay and Ona Carter Holladay. He was a truck driver, employed by Carry Transit, prior to his retirement. He was a member of Neel Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul and Kenny Holladay; and a granddaughter, Malloree Teague.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Holladay; one son, Richard Holladay (Debra); one daughter, Suzy Langley (Dale); two brothers, Buren Holladay and James Holladay; three sisters, Elaine Huggins, Barbara Moore and Sheila Hampton; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Eddie Crowe, Paul Crowe, Ken Holladay, Nathan Sanford, Jason Fields and Stanley Crow.
Delmer Faye Wallace Jackson
Decatur
A graveside funeral service and Interment for Delmer Faye Wallace Jackson, 59, were held May 18 at 11 a.m. at Bell Springs Cemetery with Bro. Ronnie Sanders officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Jackson died May 15 at her residence. She was born June 22, 1960, in Morgan County to Sherman Leroy Talley and Etoile Estelle Downs Talley. She was of the Baptist faith and was a wonderful wife, mother and
grandmother and a homemaker for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Jimmy, Dean, Rickey and Jerry Talley.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Lyndon Jackson; three daughters, Katie Goree, Detra Ledbetter and Leslie Jackson; one son, Zachary Jackson; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Seth Goree, Peyton Barnes, Randall Hill, Bentley Parsons, Brent Ledbetter and George Cisneros.
John Keith McNutt
Hartselle
Mr. John Keith McNutt, 54, died May 16. He was born Dec. 1, 1965, in Morgan County to S.E. McNutt and Anna Jeanette Jones McNutt. He was employed as a plumber with Early Services prior to his passing. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Kelly McNutt; four daughters, Hillary Robinson (Chris), Hannah McNutt, Hayley McNutt and Heather McNutt; wo brothers, Jimmy McNutt (Shirley) and Nick McNutt; one sister, Patricia Maxwell; three grandchildren, Anthony Robinson, Savannah Robinson and Valerie Robinson; niece Kenli Landers; and nephew Trevor Lee.
Honorary pallbearers were Charles Maxwell Jr., Donald Jones, Tony Jones, Charlie Jones, Tony McNutt and Jeremy Wakefield.
Jerry Durand Williams

Mr. Williams died May 16 at his residence. He was born May 9, 1943, in Morgan County to Guy Kermit Williams and Martha Ann Hill Williams Thomas. He was employed by Alabama Guard Rail as a supervisor, manufacturing overhead signs and guard rails, prior to his retirement.
His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Williams; two sons, Danny Williams and Barry Williams; one daughter, Angelique Williams; one sister, Sue Williams; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
