Pennie Denise Blanchett 

Decatur 

Mrs. Pennie Denise Blanchett died May 3 at Hospice Family Care. She was born Jan. 1, 1964, in Morgan County to L.B. Hall and Penelope Ann Smith Hall. She was preceded in death by her father. 

No services are scheduled at this time. 

Survivors include husband, Scott Blanchett; son, Dustin Bowen; stepson, Matthew Blanchett; stepdaughter, Sara Blanchett; mother, Penelope Ann Smith; and sister, Dianne Burmeister (Don). 

Mike Lindsey 

Hartselle 

A graveside funeral service and interment for Mike Lindsey, 67, was held May 6 at 3 p.m. at Johnson Chapel Cemetery with Phillip Hines officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.  

Mr. Lindsey died May 2 at his residence. He was born Jan. 7, 1953, in Calhoun County, Michigan, to Dee Laney Lindsey and Dixie Mae Earley Lindsey. Mr. Lindsey was the owner and operator of Plumbing
Services until 1992, when he started his retirement. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and a member of the Hartselle Church of Christ. He enjoyed coaching his sons’ little league baseball and basketball teams and enjoyed golfing, hunting and playing cards. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan. 

He loved his wife, sons and grandsons tremendously.  

He was preceded in death by his son, Troy Lindsey; his parents; two brothers, Wayne and Ronnie
Lindsey; and a sister, Annette Riggs. 

Survivors include his wife, Danita Galloway Lindsey, Hartselle; two sons, Chris Lindsey (Deanna) and Ryne Lindsey, both of Hartselle; a brother, Jimmy Lindsey (April), Danville; sister, Pat Payne (Johnny), Moulton; and two grandchildren, Brayden Lindsey and Alex Lindsey. 

Pallbearers were Jeremy Watts, Richy Riggs, Tommy Spinks, Chuck Yates, Bob Young and Bart Elam. 

Memorial donations may be made, in lieu of flowers, to Hospice of the Valley.  

Special thanks to Summer, Gary, Sandra, Kathy and the entire Hospice of the Valley Staff for their wonderful care and support. 

Frances Teague 

Hartselle 

A graveside funeral service and interment for Frances Teague, 80, were held May 7 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eva, with Bro. Walter Blackman officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. 

Mrs. Teague died May 4 at her residence. She was born July 12, 1939, in Morgan County to Wilburn Ozel Holaway and Vera Jewell (Summerford) Holaway. She was employed by Castner Knott as a sales clerk prior to her retirement. Dearly loved by her family, she was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Joyce Lay. 

Survivors include her husband, William (Billy) Teague, Hartselle; two daughters, Valerie Owen (Jimmy), Union Grove, and Vaneisa Dobbs (Greg), Falkville; one sister, Pat Rhoads, Texas; six grandchildren; and
nine great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Craig Owen, Brandon Moore, Chris Parsons, Randy Denney, Matthew Dobbs and Jonathan Dobbs. 

Pete Tischer 

Danville 

Pete Tischer, 79, passed away May 7 at his residence. He was born Aug. 10, 1940, in Connecticut, to Walter Raymond Tischer and Lois Ruth Polley Tischer. He was a master chief E9 (draftsman) in the
United States Army prior to his retirement.  

His parents preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his wife, Helen Crow Tischer; two sons, Brian J. Tischer and Alan S. Tischer; one daughter, Debra Floyd (Frank); one brother, Larry Tischer; one sister, Carolyn Bartlett; five grandchildren, Dalton Tischer, Rebecca Tischer, Cheyenne Floyd, Kaley Floyd and Logan Floyd. 

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. 

Ruth Forrester Cain 

Scottsboro 

Ruth Forrester Cain, 89, of Scottsboro passed away May 8. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. May 11 at Pine Haven Memorial Gardens with her sons, the Rev. Rob Cain and the Rev. Charley Cain, officiating. Her grandsons served as pallbearers.  

She was born May 30, 1930, in Morgan County. Ruth was a graduate of Morgan County High School and Athens State University. Throughout her life, she served as an active member of the Scottsboro First Baptist Church, the First United Methodist Church of Hartselle and most recently the Scottsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Her kindness and dedication to others have benefited many organizations, charities and individuals.   

She is survived by daughter, Ann Forrester Harrington (Don) of Scottsboro; son, Paul Cain (Deborah) of Athens; son, Charley Cain (Shari) of Hartselle; son, Rob Cain (Taffy) of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren Forrest Harrington (Cissie) of Trussville, Brandon Cain (Noel) of Trussville, Gavin Harrington (Amber) of Scottsboro, Derrick Cain (Rene) of Clay, Hannah Cain of Athens, Taylor Matz (Steven) of Nashville, Madison Johnson (Jared) of Nashville, Logan Cain (Emily) of Nashville and Hudson Cain (Anna) and Madelin Cain of Tuscaloosa; great-grandchildren Will, Kate and Hawkins Harrington, Dawson Atkinson, Jordan Bittle and Bradleigh, Emmitt, Landon, Braxton and Harper Cain; sister, Faye Pierce; and several nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Dorsey Forrester; her husband of 42 years, James Paul Cain; her parents, James Albert and Carrie Elizabeth Hawkins; and six siblings.  

She was a simple, genuine, caring person who always thought of her family, friends and neighbors first. She would always take the time to call or write a letter to tell her loved ones how much she cared and how proud she was of them. She had a unique ability to make everyone around her feel loved and feel special.  

There was never a person in need she did not help. There was never a person in pain she did not comfort. There was never a person down that she did not lift up.   

With her humor and gentle touch, she was a very special lady.  

Her family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff of Rosewood Manor and Encompass Hospice; her special friend, Mary Bennett; and her doctor, Mandi Bell, for making her last years pleasant and comfortable.

Janine Marie McKelvy 

Falkville 

Funeral service for Janine Marie McKelvy, 69, will be May 13 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bernard Ansorge officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be May 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home. 

Mrs. McKelvy died May 9 at Falkville Health Care Center. She was born Jan. 13, 1951, in Washington to George Howard Taylor and Justine Phyllis Marie Webb Taylor.   

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Kenneth Taylor. 

Survivors include husband James McKelvy, son Andrew McKelvy, son William McKelvy, daughter Julie Brown (Coy), daughter Sarah Graves (Lorne), sister Karen Irons (Ed), sister Linda Riden (Glen), 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. 

Andrew McKelvy, William McKelvy, Andy McKelvy, Dewight McKelvy, Coy Brown and Glen “Skooter” Riden III will serve as pallbearers. 

Christopher “Allen” Redding 

Huntsville 

Funeral service for Christopher “Allen” Redding, 28, of Huntsville will be May 15 at 11 a.m. at Valhermoso Springs Baptist Church with burial in the Valhermoso Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Valhermoso Springs Baptist Church.  

Christopher was born Oct. 17, 1991, to William Redding and Charolette Coffman Stewart in Decatur. He passed away May 8 at Crestwood Medical Center.  

Christopher was preceded in death by two great-grandmothers and two grandmothers. 

Survivors include mother Charolette (Michael) Stewart, father William (Pat) Redding, siblings Jamie (John) Daly, Ashley (Malachi) Murcray, Austin (Allison) Stewart, Amanda Stewart, Stacy Brown and Glenn Vinson; and nephew Foster Daly.
