The Hartselle Parks and Recreation Department, along with Mayor Randy Garrison has announced that the spring sports season has been canceled due to the coronavirus.

“With so many unknowns, we felt a decision needed to be made to help ensure, as much as possible the health and safety of the youth involved in spring sports, along with parents, coaches, other family members, and our employees,” said Mayor Garrison. “We have decided that the baseball, soccer, and softball seasons will be canceled.”

Garrison said that this was a difficult decision and that he hated to make it.

The city hopes to be able to offer leagues during the fall.
