Paul A. Rowe III 

Falkville 

A graveside funeral service and interment for Paul A. Rowe III, 72, were held April 9 at 2 p.m. at Herring Cemetery in the Massey community with Bro. Phillip Hardin officiating and Peck Funeral Home
directing.  

Mr. Rowe died April 6 at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born Aug. 8, 1947, in Morgan County to Paul A. Rowe Jr. and Frances Moore Rowe. He grew up in Falkville and was a graduate of the Class of 1965 from Falkville High School. He served with honor in the Alabama National Guard from 1966–1972. He worked as a farmer and an electrician journeyman and owned and operated Rowe Dozer Service. He was a wonderful husband and father. 

His parents preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his wife, Frances Vest Rowe; one son, Paul A. (Pick) Rowe IV (Mandy); one daughter, Sallye Rowe Swafford (Mike); three grandchildren, Maeleigh Rowe, Brennan Swafford and Rowe Swafford; two sisters, Frances Rowe Patrick (Larry) and Judy Rowe Gover (Charlie); two nephews, Tony Patrick (Janet) and Jeremy Patrick (Shanna); two nieces, Lauren Gover Killen (Dustin) and Emily Gover Vest (Brad); and one sister-in-law, Lucy Vest Slater. 

Pallbearers were Pick Rowe, Mike Swafford, Josh Wilkins, Adam Maday, Jason Steenson and Brad McReath. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Carpenter’s Cabinet, P.O. Box 414, Falkville, AL 35622; to Milestone Recovery Inc., 900 Hwy 31 SW, Hartselle, AL 35640; or to Falkville Lions
Club, 2369 West Lacon Road, Falkville, AL 35622. 

Thomas Franklin Wright 

Decatur 

Mr. Thomas Franklin Wright passed away April 6 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.  

He was born Dec. 23, 1939, in Morgan County to William Price Wright and Vera Grace Honeycutt Wright. He was a 1957 graduate of Decatur High School, where he was co-captain on the football team, playing for Coach Ogle and enjoying the fellowship of Shorty’s Boys.  

He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He was employed by General Motors at the Saginaw Steering Gear Plant as a machine repairman prior to his retirement.  

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, William Price Wright Jr. and Robert Daniel Wright; and a sister, Betty Virginia Wright. 

Survivors include his son, Tom Wright (Gayla), Decatur; his daughter, Lori Wright Jackson (Keith), Decatur; a brother, David Wright (Angie), Shreveport, La.; a sister, Lela Ray (Wayne), Russellville; six grandchildren, Scarlett Virginia Wright Holgate (Mitch), Meagan Elizabeth Bullock (Chris), Ashley Jackson Thomas (Brent), Emily Jackson Stipe (Wes),  Matthew Puckett (Pepper) and Chante’ Thomas (Kenneth); eight great-grandchildren, Jackson and Mason Thomas, Livingston and Payton Stipe, Luca and Lennox Bullock, Lilly Thomas and Aiden Puckett. 

A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.  

The family would like to thank his extended family at Decatur Country Cottage for all the love and care they provided to him, as well as thank the doctors and nurses at Decatur Morgan Hospital, especially those nurses in the ICU. 

Betty Ann Barna 

Hartselle 

Betty Ann Barna, 76, of Hartselle, passed away April 5 at Summerford Nursing Home.  

She was born Jan. 8, 1944, to Charles Frank and Elizabeth Kacica Frank in Ohio. She was a dedicated housewife and beloved mother and grandmother.  

Mrs. Barna had a kind and generous heart.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sandi Frank; and her husband, Bill Barna. 

Due to the health and safety regulations concerning the COVID-19 virus, no public services were held. A service for the immediate family was held at Peck Funeral home in Hartselle on April 9. A celebration of life will be announced at a future date. An internment will be held in All Saints Cemetery in Northfield, Ohio, at a future date. 

Survivors include one son, Charlie Barna (Andra); one daughter, Beth Schoenberger (Paul); four grandchildren, Britany Barna, Rachel Barna, Martha Barna and Malerie Schoenberger; and one niece, Heather Rivera. 

Brittanie Triplett 

Somerville 

A graveside funeral service and interment for Brittanie Triplett, 25, were held April 10 at 3 p.m. at Hartselle Memory Gardens with Bro. Bill Evans officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. 

Miss Triplett died April 3 at Huntsville Hospital. She was born Dec. 10, 1994, in Jefferson County to Brent Triplett and Amy Elizabeth Chaviers Triplett. She had attended college and just received her bachelor’s degree to become a teacher. 

She will be missed greatly by her family. 

Survivors include father Brent Triplett, mother Amy Chaviers Triplett and sister Alesha Anderson (Zac). 

Pallbearers were family and friends. 

Heath Ryan 

Falkville 

Heath Ryan lost his life April 5 at his residence.  

He was born Dec. 26, 1975, in Morgan County to Ramona Diane Ryan. He worked for George Rutherford Auto Body prior to his passing.  

He was preceded in death by his mother, and his two daughters, Chelsea and Kylee, lost their lives along with him. 

Survivors include his wife, Sheryl Barber Ryan, and one son, Jacob Kyle Ryan.
No services are planned at this time. The family will hold a memorial service at a date to be determined later. 

Chelsea Ryan 

Falkville 

Chelsea Ryan, 7, lost her life April 5 at her residence. 

She was born Feb. 17, 2013, in Morgan County to Quentin Heath Ryan and Sheryl Ryan. Chelsea was a student and was a beautiful child that had her life taken from her life too soon.  

Her father and her sister, Kylee Ryan, lost their lives also. 

Survivors include her mother, Sheryl Ryan; one brother, Jacob Kyle Ryan; grandparents, Steven W. and Holly Barber; an uncle, Steven P. Barber; and an aunt, Allison Barber. 

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ramona Ryan. 

A memorial service will be held by her family at a later date. 

Kylee Ryan 

Falkville 

Kylee Ryan lost her life April 5 at her residence. She was born July 23, 2016, in Morgan County to Quentin Heath Ryan and Sheryl Barber Ryan.  

Kylee was a student of the Hartselle Headstart program. She was a wonderful little girl that was taken from her family too soon.  

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ramona Barber. Her father and sister, Chelsea, lost their lives also. 

Survivors include her mother, Sheryl Barber Ryan; one brother, Jacob Kyle Ryan; grandparents Steven W. and Holly Barber; an uncle, Steven P. Barber; and an aunt, Allison Barber. 

Pamela Lucille Montgomery 

Hartselle 

A graveside funeral service and interment for Pamela Lucille Montgomery, 53, were held April 10 at 11 a.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Decatur City Cemetery.  

Mrs. Montgomery died April 7 at her residence.  

She was born July 18, 1966, in Illinois to Robert Chism Sr. and Sally Crow Chism.
She was employed as a factory worker at Lakeland Industries for 20 years and was employed with General Electric.  She was a wonderful person and will be dearly loved.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Chism. 

Survivors include husband Billy Montgomery, daughter Monica Montgomery, sister Linda Chism and granddaughters Cloey Rampley, Adalynn Rampley and Insley Rampley. 

Bobby L. Gillespie 

Danville 

Because of the state mandates for COVID-19, at this time the family is holding a private graveside funeral service and interment for Bobby L. Gillespie, 76. The service was at Lebanon Cemetery, Speake, with Bro Francis Proctor officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. 

Mr. Gillespie died April 6 at UAB Hospital, Birmingham. He was born Nov. 30, 1943, in Lawrence County to Edward Lee Gillespie and Minnie Dale Woodard Gillespie. He was employed by Willo Products as a steel fabricator prior to his retirement.  

Mr. Gillespie was a devout Christian and former deacon at Wear Baptist Church for many years. He enjoyed spending his days on his farm and visiting with neighbors and family, and he always looked forward to his morning and evening phone calls with his son. He especially loved his Sunday lunch dates with his grandchildren, Noah and Kira. He was a special man, a great role model, and he will be greatly
missed by everyone who loved him so much.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Barbara Ann Brown Gillespie, and his parents.
Survivors include son Christopher Gillespie (Karen); twin sister Barbara Townsend; and two grandchildren, Noah and Kira Gillespie. 

Marla Long Marshall 

Danville 

A graveside funeral service and interment for Marla Long Marshall, 54, were held April 11 at 2 p.m. at Johnson Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Thomas Salter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.   

Mrs. Marshall died April 6 at her residence. She was born Nov. 28, 1965, in Morgan County to Buey Lamar Long and Edith Wallace Long. She worked for NASA for 19 years, finishing her career working with the Army Corps of Engineers. She had a degree in business administration. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Buey Long, and her sister, Debbie Long.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Marshall, Danville; her mother, Edith Wallace Long, Danville; two daughters, Faith “Shug” Marshall, Danville, and Audrey Marshall, Danville; a brother, Dale Long (Cynthia), Danville; and a sister, Lisa Long Kelsoe (Steve), Danville. 

Pallbearers were Joe Fitzgerald, David Pike, Errett Fitzgerald, Samuel Jacobs, Eric Sinclair and Gary Moore. 

Her family will hold a memorial service at a later date for the family and friends to cherish her memory. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Johnson Chapel Church for College Tuition for her children. 

David Key 

Danville 

A graveside funeral service and interment for David Key, 71, were held April 11 at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery with Bro. Brad Roath officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. 
Mr. Key died April 9 at his residence. He was born Feb. 1, 1949, in Morgan County to Jesse Owen Key and Ruth Hazel Kelly Key.  

David was a grave digger for many years in the Danville community.  

He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Key, his parents and a brother, Harold Key. 

Survivors include his wife, Faye Key; one son, Jeremy Key (Karen); four daughters, Rita Evans (Steve), Becky Nelson (Steve), Shirley Carpenter (Alan) and Carol Crumbley (Jamie); one brother, James Key (Kathleen); four sisters Carolyne Swader (Donald), Joyce Drinkard,       Shirley Wilbanks and
       Kathy Heatherly (Paul); 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers were Jesse Key, Paul Evans, Austin Carpenter, Matt Mayfield, Blake Nelson and Cody Depew. 

Donald P. Blankenship 

Falkville 

A graveside funeral service and interment for Donald P. Blankenship, 85, were held April 11 at 11 a.m. at Friendship South of Danville, with the Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. 

Mr. Blankenship died April 9 at his residence. He was born April 25, 1934, in Lawrence County to Jodie Blankenship and Lucy Boger Blankenship. He was a press operator for Modernistic Printing Company in
Cullman prior to his retirement.  

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Falkville, where he served as a deacon.  

Preceding him in death were his parents; five brothers, Aulton, Wilbur, Clyde, Freeman and Porter
Blankenship; and two sisters, Lorene Blankenship and Myrtle Cooper Spivey. 

Survivors include his wife, Willodean Hogan Blankenship, Falkville; one son, Keith Blankenship (Melanie), Falkville; two daughters, Kim Boggs (Greg), Hartselle, and Kelli Krieger (Joey), Florence; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ethan Boggs, Luke Krieger, Samantha Blankenship, Travis Blankenship, Ashley Boggs, Brandon Krieger, Colin Boggs and Shelley Blankenship Collins, his grandchildren.

Frances Puckett Cole 

Hartselle 

Frances Puckett Cole passed away April 10 at her residence. No Visitation or funeral service is planned. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Terry Charles Tanner. 

Peck Funeral Home is assisting the family. 

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Oakley Lamar Cole, and her son, Billy Renea Tanner.
