MCSO raising funds for Morgan County Special Olympics

Deputies with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office will trade in their firearms for pens and paper tomorrow. Volunteer officers will work as servers at Bentley’s at the Outhouse to raise funds for Morgan County Special Olympics. The Tip-A-Cop event will be held from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Mike Swafford, a spokesman for the MCSO, said the goal is to raise $13,000 through various events this year.

“Our teams love to support (Morgan County) Special Olympics and take part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run each year,” he said. “With the public’s help, we continue to raise the bar. These funds support the Alabama Special Olympics and the ambition of students right here in Morgan County.”

Bentley’s at the Outhouse is located at 200 Main St. W in downtown Hartselle.
