NARCOG names new executive director

The Board of Directors of the North Central Alabama Regional Council of Governments has appointed Robby Cantrell to lead the agency. Cantrell will assume the role held for the past seven years by Jeffrey Pruitt.

Pruitt is retiring after a long career in community planning, economic development and other public services with agencies throughout Alabama.

Cantrell began his career as a Geographic Information Systems Analyst with the East Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission. He joined NARCOG in July 2012 as a transportation planner. In 2016 he assumed responsibility of the newly formed Regional Transit Agency at NARCOG.

“I have been blessed to have an extraordinary opportunity to find ways to improve the lives of people who have barriers to daily transportation, he said. “I am truly honored to have this new opportunity to lead the entire NARCOG team into the future.”

He is a graduate of Jacksonville State University and resides in Hartselle with his wife and three children. He is active in various civic groups, boards and committees and enjoys coaching multiple youth sports.

NARCOG positively impacts people and communities in Cullman, Lawrence and Morgan counties. Learn more at www.narcog.org.
