McKendree United Methodist holds White Christmas program

The members of McKendree United Methodist Church held their White Christmas program Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. The program was presented by Brother Darrell Moseley, Teri Sanford, Wyatt Sanford and, helping with the program video and music, Bradley Moseley.  

Everyone enjoyed the candle lighting and Christmas carols. Tom and Tina Summerford are the music directors.  

A White Christmas offering was taken for church projects such as the state children’s home.  

Corinth West Methodist Church Events  

Dec. 8, Corinth West Methodist Church members were blessed at their morning worship service with pastor Wayne Jetton’s prelude to Christmas, message and Christmas carols.  

Afterward they had the annual Christmas meal and exchanged gifts in the family life and fellowship building.  

Other December activities included a Christmas program by Roxanne Asherbranner and Linda Walker. A pageant was also held by adults and children to stage the birth of Jesus.

Area family welcomes new member  

Weston and Sydney Krohe are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Bentley Lance Krohe. Lance was born Nov. 22, and he weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 19 inches long.  

His proud grandparents are Danny Alred and Chris and Gayle Krohe, and his greatgrandparents are Helen Alred and David and Kathryn Yoder.  

Emmanuel Mennonite Activities  

Joel Brenneman and Scaarla Hooley are pleased to announce their engagement and tentative plans for a February wedding. Scaarla is from Ohio and served in the Mennonite Mission when Joel was a missionary there in Haiti.  

Brother Sam Nisly’s mother, Favie Nisly of Hutchinson, Kansas, celebrated her 100th birthday Dec. 3. Brother Sam, Arlene, Wanita and 13 of Bro. Sam’s siblings joined him for the event. The adults visited in the morning, and the children came in the afternoon.  

Timothy Nisly, preemie baby son of Brother Wayne and Sharon Nisly, remains in the Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Prayers are requested for the family.  

The Emmanuel School youth enjoyed being involved with the adult church members and participating in several Christmas caroling events. Church members also enjoyed giving cookies and other goodies to the shut-ins and nursing home residents.
