Chamber presents decorative banners for downtown Hartselle

City officials and chamber members gathered Jan. 10 for a presentation made to the City of Hartselle. The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce presented decorative banners that will be displayed in Historic Downtown Hartselle. The vinyl banners, each a different color and design, will be hung on the decorative light poles downtown throughout the coming weeks. The banners reflect all that Hartselle has to offer its citizens and visitors – from places to dine, play, shop and grow – each banner features a different word and design.

Grant McKelvey, chairman of the HACC board of directors, said there will be nearly 60 banners displayed. McKelvey said the chamber worked with a marketing firm to help bring their vision to life. Hartselle Utilities will be installing the banners in the coming weeks. The project had a total cost of $13,000 but McKelvey said it was money well spent.

“We have a lot going on downtown. Everything from ceramics to popcorn vendors – there’s a lot that people might not know about,” he said. “Hopefully these banners will improve the aesthetic and get people to stop downtown and explore. We think they look great and will go a long way to promote our city as a whole.”
