Kelsey Nuss and Jackson Collins Pearson Oct. 12, 2019
How They Met
Kelsey and her friend Grace decided it would be fun to invite some people to go to Top Golf one night! Grace’s boyfriend, Chase, invited Jackson to come since he was home from Auburn for the summer. No one there had intentions of setting Kelsey and Jackson up prior to these plans, and neither of them was looking to be in a relationship! But as the night went on, everyone had a good time laughing and making fun of Kelsey golfing – and the next day Jackson said he would like to see her again. Even though Kelsey said she “had plans,” Jackson was a little persistent. What started as fun summer night with friends led to what will be a lifetime together.
The Proposal
Jackson knew pretty quickly how special Kelsey is, and it didn’t take very long for him to realize he loved her! Once he knew she loved him too (somehow), they started exciting conversations about a real future together. At the time, Jackson was unsure whether the things they talked about would actually turn into anything, but he knew they made him excited, filled with happiness and a little nervous! After spending the holidays with Kelsey and her family, Jackson knew she was the one he wanted to spend his life with and share every day with. He had been praying, trying to find out if these things were just the things he wanted, and he woke up a week or so before he proposed with an unforgettable thought of: “Go ask her dad; if he says yes, then it is time to do it.” So the very next opportunity that arose, Jackson asked Bro. Joe for the blessing to marry his daughter. He said yes and gave Jackson his blessing. Jackson had never been so overcome with joy and happiness! He immediately planned a dinner to “celebrate Kelsey’s passing of the NCLEX exam.” She had no idea! The evening leading up to the dinner, he was nervous, and the dinner was even more nerve racking. After they finished their entrees, he stood up, walked around the table to stand in front of Kelsey, got on one knee, took out the ring and said “Kelsey, will you marry me?” She followed by saying, “If I say yes, you know you’re stuck with me forever, right?” Jackson replied yes, and she said, “Then yes!”. After that night, Jackson had the love of his life as his fiancé and felt like the luckiest man alive!
Favorite Moments
One of their favorite moments of the day was the ceremony. It wasn’t until then, walking down the aisle to Jackson, that all the craziness became real to Kelsey. It made it more special that Kelsey’s granddad was the one performing the service – even though he called his only granddaughter by the wrong name! Ceremonies are usually so serious, but Kelsey always wanted a ceremony that was fun, full of laughter and celebration of two people coming together as one. It was perfect.
