Ugly Sweater Party held at Sugar Mama’s Bakery

An “Ugly Sweater Party” will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Sugar Mama’s Bakery, on Railroad Street in Hartselle.
The event is a family-friendly event hosted by Meagan Jones of Marmac Realtors and Carrie Taylor of Caliber Home Loans. The bakery is a newer Hartselle business owned by Lindsay Kubica, the former owner of the Olive Co. boutique.
Kubica recently converted the gift boutique into the bakery and serves brunch/lunch items daily including soups, salads, breads, as well as sweet treats including cookies, brownies, fudge, pies, cakes and more.
The three friends wanted to collectively “show off Hartselle” and give back to the community that has supported them and their businesses, Taylor said.
“The event is something fun to do to give back to our past, present and future clients. Hartselle’s a hidden gem,” she said. “It’s such a quaint and special town and we want to share that with everybody.”
Everyone is encouraged to where an Ugly Christmas Sweater to the party. Stations will be set up for children including, photos with special guests, crafts and treats. There will also be giveaways for adults including prizes from several local Hartselle businesses. Hot chocolate and sweet treats will also be available at the bakery. The party is a “come and go” event.
