Priceville’s Jenna Walker committed to the Western Kentucky Lady Hilltoppers and Coach Greg Collins Thanksgiving night. 

“It’s hard to explain the amazing feeling I have had about WKU since the first conversation I had with Coach Collins. It was truly like a dream when I got on campus. It was everything I had imagined the perfect school for me would be like,” said Walker. “I have been back several times for unofficial visits, and every time I have gone, I have learned more and more about their program and school and why I fit so well there.” 

Walker said Collins and his staff “are amazing. His team is amazing, and the school is amazing.” 

“His offense suits my style of play perfectly,” Walker added. “I believe it is a perfect fit for me and couldn’t be happier about my decision.” 

Walker, a 5-foot-8 point guard, is averaging 13 points, four assists and 2.4 steals per game this season to lead the Lady Bulldogs. She averaged 10.7 points and 7.1 assists during her sophomore season. She had a career-high 16 assists in a game last season and finished the season with 547 assists through two and a half seasons of varsity action. 

“Western Kentucky is getting not only a great basketball player but more importantly a young lady who touches every single person she is around,” said Priceville head coach Terri Nelson. “Jenna changes every environment she enters because of her attitude and her love for people. She makes an impact.” 

Walker’s mom and Priceville assistant coach Kim Walker expressed pride in her daughter’s achievement, particularly “the way she has handled every part of the recruiting process. She has always called every coach she was supposed to call and visited every school and staff who was recruiting her.  

“She went to most of their camps in the summers to be coached by their staff and spent an enormous amount of time over the years going to watch their games to study their teams and styles of play to see how she fit with each one.” 

Walker chose the Lady Hilltoppers over offers from Vanderbilt, Southern Mississippi, Samford, UAB, Auburn and Ole Miss. 

“Jenna has never allowed people to sway her with their own opinions of schools. She has always known how important it would be to choose a school that checks all the ‘usual’ boxes but also be able to fill her heart completely,” her mother and coach added. “She always makes every decision in her life with her heart, so she knew she needed to feel a special love about whatever school she would choose.” 

Walker is Priceville’s second Division I commitment – following Kathleen Wheeler, who signed with Samford this past season.
