Culver resigns from Hartselle football program
Hartselle’s Bo Culver has resigned from his position as the head coach of the Tigers. His resignation is effective immediately.
Culver informed his team earlier this afternoon that he was stepping down, according to Hartselle High School principal Brad Cooper. Culver will stay on as a teacher.
Culver, who spent one season as Tiger head coach, finished with a 4-7 record. His team placed fourth in region play and lost in the first round of the playoffs two weeks ago. He has a 54-48 combined record in nine seasons with stops at Hartselle, Deshler, Haleyville and Phil Campbell.
“We appreciate his hard work and all he did for Hartselle,” Cooper said. “He worked to mold his team into better players and better young men.”
According to Cooper, he will meet with Hartselle Superintendent, Dr. Dee Dee Jones, to come up with a plan for their coaching search.
“We will always strive to do what is best for our school and our players,” Cooper said.
