Falkville dominates Gaylesville in 42-6 victory

Falkville welcomed the Gaylesville Trojans to Burl Vest Stadium for a Class 1A, Region 7 matchup Thursday night.

The Blue Devils dominated the game, as they defeated the Trojans 42-6.

Falkville used a balanced attack, finishing the game with 427 yards of total offense. The Blue Devils rushed for 199 yards on 17 carries while passing for 228 yards; the offense averaged 15.25 yards per play.

Christian Angulo led the offense with 101 yards rushing on six carries. He tallied two touchdowns and 121 yards on four of six passing with two touchdowns. 

Payton Sallee added 107 yards on three of five passing and a touchdown.

Wyatt King had three receptions for 95 yards and two touchdowns, while Mikell Philyaw had two catches for 64 yards and a score. Isisah Warnick added a touchdown run.

The Blue Devil defense held Gaylesville to 244 total yards. 

Austin Holmes led the way defensively with 10 tackles and two sacks.

The Blue Devils (5-4, 4-2) will close out the regular season with a home game Friday night against the Elkmont Red Devils (1-9).
