Books of the Week Sept. 30 – Oct. 4

By Michelle Blaylock and Patricia Poe

Book:  A Gaggle of Geese & a Clutter of Cats

Author: Dandi Daley Mackall

Illustrator:  David Hohn

In this book the author, Dandi Daley Mackall, creatively teaches the names for groups of animals using rhymes.  The illustrator, David Hohn, does a fabulous job illustrating the book providing additional conversation topics by putting the animals is human scenarios.

For example, the “murder” of crows are investigating a crime scene.  The “drift” of pigs are drifting down a lazy river on logs, and the “mischief” of rats are raiding a refrigerator.   So do you know what a group of Kangaroos are called? Or how about a group of frogs, or bears, or toads?
