MCSO arrests women on narcotics charges

Early Sept. 15, a Morgan County sheriff’s deputy reported observing a car traveling on Highway 67 in the Priceville area without a tag and initiated a traffic stop. It was a traffic stop that ended in three arrests.

The deputy made contact with the driver, Sashe Agnew, and passengers Hillary Jade Thompson and Ava Franklin. The driver informed the deputy she had recently purchased the vehicle but could not supply her driver’s license or proof of purchase.

According to the arrest report, Agnew consented to a search of the vehicle, which revealed a black scale with a crystal-like residue consistent with methamphetamine, a second scale, a syringe, several small clear baggies and a crystal-like rock consistent with methamphetamine in the car and Agnew’s purse. 

The substance field tested positive as methamphetamine and weighed approximately 2.5 grams.

The deputy also reportedly discovered a pink makeup bag belonging to Franklin that contained a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana, five blunts, a clear glass smoking pipe, three syringes, two cut straws and two small baggies with a crystal-like residue consistent with methamphetamine.

A further search of the vehicle revealed an additional 15.3 grams of methamphetamine, according to the report

Deputies arrested Agnew, 30, of Danville for possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia, with bond set at $5,000; Franklin, 38, of Hartselle for possession with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia, with bond set at $5,600; and Thompson, 26, of Falkville for possession with intent to distribute, with bond set at $5,000.
