Robbery suspect in custody after nine hour manhunt
According to Facebook posts made by the Hartselle Police Department and Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, the man suspected of robbing the Hartselle Kroger earlier today is now in custody.
Hartselle Police Department identified the suspect as Londell Ramone Nunn Jr. in their post, and stated the Georgia man was arrested for Robbery 1st degree and given a $60,000 bond after being found around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office posted that the arrest was made after a citizen shared a tip that a man was spotted on Mountain View Road in Hartselle. After the tip, “Priceville, HPD and MCSO responded, saw a suspect and gave chase into the woods where the suspect was apprehended.”
According to HPD, Nunn entered Hartselle Kroger around 10:35 a.m. and demanded money. The post said that he “stated that he had a gun and would shoot the clerk” before escaping with $2,000 in cash. The suspect was later involved in a car wreck and left the scene near Mountain View Road and Georgia Street that led to a unified search in the area by multiple law enforcement agencies.
