Local art contest accepts submissions

Behind the Canvas Art Studio and Keramos Ceramics Studio will be sponsoring a Depot Days Art Contest Sept. 21. The contest is open to Morgan County residents.

For children, the divisions will be kindergarten through second grade; third grade through fifth grade; sixth grade through eighth grade; and ninth grade through 12th grade. All adults will be judged in one division based on their medium.

The accepted media include drawing/sketching with pencil, charcoal, colored pencils or crayons, pen and ink, watercolor painting, acrylic and oil painting, pastels and mixed mediums. Awards will be given to the top three entries in each division and age class.

Each person can submit one entry per medium. Entries must be framed and hung on a wire hanger, and each participant must be able to pick up the entry between 3-4 p.m. Sept. 21.

To submit an entry, participants must drop off their work at Behind the Canvas Art Studio Sept. 14-18. The studio will be open for entries Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
