Morgan County All-Stars go 13,6 in area tournaments

The month of June has been a busy one for the 2018 Morgan County 12U All-Star softball team. The group of players and coaches made up from rec league teams throughout Morgan County represented the communities of Danville, Falkville and Brindlee Mountain this season.

The team played in four tournaments over a period of four weekends this month ending with the USSSA Alabama State All-Star Tournament where they finished 9th against teams from all areas of Alabama. The Morgan County 12U All-Stars started their journey in the first north pre-area tournament finishing in fourth place with the defense allowing only seven runs total against them during the entire tournament. The following weekend, in the second tournament, the team went undefeated (5-0) and came in first place, holding their opponents to only 11 runs overall. The North Area tournament in Athens proved to be a little more difficult for the team. They fell in the bottom bracket at the end of the second game; however, they battled back during the remaining five games to bring home a second place finish. The team finished out the season with a record of 13-6.
