Those who are interested in civic duty and serving their community can apply now for vacant positions on various city boards.

The city council is currently looking to appoint people to the following boards:

  • Hartselle Parks & Recreation Board. There is one vacancy on the board. The position is a five-year term.
  • Airport Board. There are three vacancies. These positions are five-year terms.
  • Board of Zoning Adjustment. There are two vacancies. These positions are two-year terms.

City clerk Rita Lee said the ideal candidate for these positions is someone who has time to volunteer and who has a desire to give back to the community. Applicants will be interviewed by the city administration and then appointed.

Applications are available at the city clerk’s office in City Hall or on the city’s website. The deadline to apply is April 13 at 4 p.m.
