PRICEVILLE – The Hartselle varsity boys opened Friday night’s game with an 11-0 run and never looked back as the defending Morgan County champions advanced to the championship game with a 74-55 win over Priceville.

Brody Peebles knocked down a trio of three-point shots in the opening frame to jumpstart the Tigers. Hartselle led 33-24 at the break and outscored the Bulldogs 16-10 in the third quarter to seize control.

Priceville scored a game-best 19 points in the fourth quarter but were unable to cut into the lead before ultimately falling short. Hartselle was able to close the game out with stellar shooting at the charity stripe. As a team, the Tigers were 13-15 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter.

Trace Hill led the Tigers with 18 points while Peebles finished with 17. The Bulldogs were led by Brandon Speegle’s 15 points. Tyon Jones posted double digits for the second consecutive night with 12.

Hartselle will defend their championship 7:30 p.m., Saturday night when they take on fellow Class 6A-foe Brewer in the finals.
