Funeral service for Lottie Simmons McCormick, 79, of Decatur, was Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ralph Henderson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Friendship Methodist Church Cemetery.

Ms. McCormick died Dec. 14 at her residence. She was born Jan. 20, 1938, in Lawrence County to Edward Justin Simmons and Minnie Pearl Sparks Simmons. She was a homemaker and a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Leonard S. McCormick; two brothers, Thomas and James Simmons; and two sisters, Ruby Moore and Hattie Mae Simmons.

The family would like to offer a special rhanks to the staff of Southern

Care Hospice, especially Tabitha Brown and Bridgett Peppers, volunteer caregiver Lorrain Black, special friends Jack and Brenda Darby, Dr. Lindsey Smith and the Clearview Cancer Center.

Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte Mauldin; three brothers. Ray Simmons (Rhonda), Ottis Couch and Bobby Simmons; one sister, Susie Gilley (Jimmy); two grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Glaze (Tyler) and Shane McCormick; and three great-grandchildren, Amelia, Lucas and Zachary Glaze.

Pallbearers were Wayne Simmons, Alan Garrison, Robert Simmon, Mitchell Simmons, Bobby Simmons and Craig Legg.
