Decatur Police received a report of a fight and stabbing at the Victory Fuels station Nov. 9, and when they arrived, they found evidence a fight had taken place.

The officers were notified that there was a stabbing victim nearby.

The fight occurred on West Moulton Street, and the stabbing victim was located on Old Moulton Road near West Moulton Street.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found 23-year-old Aleah Garth of Decatur had been stabbed multiple times. She was transported to Huntsville Hospital by ambulance and has since been released.
A short time later, 21-year-old Promise Sykes and 22-year-old Precious Garth showed up at Decatur Morgan Hospital with stab wounds. They were treated and released.
During the investigation, officers determined that a fight broke out in the parking lot of the store between two women. The fight escalated to the point that several others joined in. At some point, the victims were injured by the knife that Promise Sykes of Decatur allegedly brought to the fight.

Promise Sykes of Decatur was arrested Nov. 16 on a warrant of assault in the second degree.

Sgt. George Silvestri obtained a warrant for assault in the second degree Nov. 15 and put a bulletin to DPD Officers for Sykes’ arrest.
Nov. 16,  at 3:12 p.m., DPD patrol Officer Michael Kent reported that he spotted Sykes driving and stopped her vehicle.
She was arrested on the warrant and transferred to the Morgan County Jail on a $2,500 bond.
