James “Jim” Claude Sutton

Funeral for James “Jim” Claude Sutton, 67, was Sat., Sept. 2, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chuck Oden officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Landersville Cemetery in the Mt. Hope Area.

Mr. Sutton died Sun., Aug. 27, 2017 at Tulane Medical Center in Louisiana. He was born Oct. 7, 1949, in Morgan County to James Monroe Sutton and Myrtle Leona Pace Sutton. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a helicopter pilot for Trans Canada prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wallace Bob Sutton and three sisters, Barbara Sutton, Nell Bradford and Ruth Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Sutton of Franklin, La.; three sons, Mark Sutton (Genea) of Somerville, Heath Zapf (Arin) of Huntsville and Brent Zapf of Birmingham; two daughters, Brandi Sutton Wheeler (Tom) of Somerville and
Heather Mitchell of Huntsville; two sisters, Betty Mancuso (Nicholas) of Brandon, Fla. and Sue Wright (Charles) of Hartselle; thirteen grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were sons and grandsons.
