Funeral for Hershel Harvey Pickens, 81, will be Wed., Aug. 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Shaddix officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. Pickens died Sun., Aug. 13, 2017 at River City Center. He was born Aug. 18, 1935, in Florida to Harvey Hershel Pickens and Mamie Christine McCall Pickens. He was a Grounds Supervisor for the Manatee County Parks and Recreation Department prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ann Pickens Roskos and a nephew, James Michael Baity.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Alberta Louise Pickens; two daughters,
Patricia Pickens Black (Patrick) and Christina Lynn Pickens; two grandchildren, Marie Snider and Randall Snider and two great-grandchildren, Bella Martin and
Gavin Snider.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association or to the Hospice of the Valley or flowers will be accepted.
