Funeral for Melva Jo Waldrep, 82, of Trinity was Thur., Dec. 22, at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Greg Standridge officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Bethel Baptist Cemetery.

Mrs. Waldrep died Tues., Dec. 20, 2016, at The Bridge at Highland
Nursing Home in Tennessee.  She was born August 8, 1934, in Morgan County to Thomas Burl Slaten and Clara Lucille Griffin Slaten. She was formerly a clerk for The Book Shoppe in Decatur. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Nicholson Waldrep Jr. and her parents.
She is survived by three sons, Dwain Waldrep (Phyllis),
Tim Waldrep (Bonnie) and Nicky Waldrep; a daughter, Lucretia Mobbs (Bill); a brother, Thomas Burl Slaten, Jr.  (Carolyn); 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren
Pallbearers were Greg Slaten, Gary Slaten, Sam Waldrep, Gabe Waldrep, Dakota Hill and  Matthew Anderton.
