KYLA COOTS PLAYS CINDERELLA IN CHRISTMAS PLAY

Kyla Coots of the Massey-Evergreen community enjoyed playing the part of Cinderella in the Christmas play “Elf On A Shelf” held at Journey Church in Eva, on Friday and Saturday nights and also Sunday afternoon and Sunday night. Krista Blaxton was the play director and Ron Blaxton was the music director. The play was held on Dec. 9, 10, 11.

Jim and Karen Bryant Walker of DeSoto, Kansas, came to Hartselle on Thanksgiving Day to visit her sister, Kay Farrer. Kay spent several days at Decatur, Morgan Hospital and is now at Summerford Rehab, Rm 227 for fractured pelvic bone therapy. Larry Anders of Sheffield joined them for lunch on Wed., Nov. 30. Theron Anders of Huntsville could not meet with the cousins, but will in Dec.. Jimmy Scott, Marlon Clemons, Jane Hill, Linda Houston, Rhona Summerford, Jack , Harvey, Kevin and Leah Linderman and William and Gunter were visitors. Jim and Karen returned to Kansas. Karen’s United Methodist Women had Advent lunch served by Jim and the Methodist Men’s Club on Sun., Dec. 4. Kay Farrer enjoyed having the following visitors to her room at Summerford Rehab recently, Sandra Morgan, Sara Hughes, Laverne Byrd, Jessica Orr, Paulette Wilhite, Vicki Jeffery, Roy and Linda Calhoun, Katie Sue Hardin, Delores Lott, Liz Thrasher and Karen Vinzant, Barry and Carolyn Halford, Patty Wiley, Teresa Compton and also Bobbie Nix.

Lebanon Baptist Church on Barkley Bridge Road and Hwy 55 West, hosted Senior Citizen’s Christmas lunch on Wed., Dec. 7 at 12. Jane Thomason and Etta Mae Campbell coordinated the meal.

Linfred and Rosetta Kauffman, Rev. Wayne and Sharon Nisly and Rev. Samuel and Arlene Nisly attended a Ministers Conference in Greenville, TN, on Nov. 8 til 10.

Sylvan and Kemily Yoder moved to Massey four months ago from Rutherford, TN. Jason and Donna Hofpstetler moved to Massey from Rutherford, TN on Nov. 17.

Rev. Samuel and Arlene Nisly and Wanita Nisly went to Hutcheson, Kansas, for Sadie Nisly’s “97TH” birthday on Dec. 3. She is Brother Sam’s Mother.

Linfred and Rosetta Kauffman and daughter, Jason and Donna Hofpstetler and 3 children, attended an Ordination service in Maryland on Dec. 4.

A soups, chili and stew and desserts were special at the Massey Community supper on Fri. night at McKendree United Methodist Church. Then at 6:30 p.m., Dec. 9, the Celebrate Recovery purpose, prayers and praise service was led by Brother Mike Vest. Group sessions were conducted by Lynn Hogan, Tammy Vest and Brother Mike Vest. The Christmas Day Service at McKendree United Methodist Church will be at 10:00 on Sun. There will be no Sunday School on Christmas Day.

Corinth West Methodist Church had their exchange of gifts and Christmas lunch after the morning worship service on Dec. 11. On Dec. 18, the Methodists had their “Story of Christmas Program” at 4:00 p.m. Refreshments were served after the program. At 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 18 Corinth West Methodist had their monthly gospel singing. Bud Woods and Linda Walker helped with that event. On Dec.the 21st, Wed. the church will have their Candle Light service at 7:00 p.m. Brother Wayne Jetton is pastor and Bud Woods is the song leader and the pianists are Roxanne Asherbranner and Shelley Maddox.
