Priceville falls to Fairview on the road

The squad of the Fairview Aggies was too much for the Bulldogs as they were sent to 0-5 on the season following a 49-0 loss at the West Point High School venue on Friday.

Fairview held Priceville to less than 100 yards in the ball game, and under 20 in the second half.

The closest Priceville came to a scoring attempt was on a 29-yard field goal in the second quarter, but was unsuccessful.

The first Aggie touchdown of the game came in with 7:46 to play in the opening quarter on a nine-yard run by Logan Brooks following a 52-yard drive.  Jaxxon Swann added the extra point.

Just four minutes later, they pushed the ball again, this time 85-yards on five plays to score on a 53-yard carry by Brooks.  Swann was true on the PAT.

Some time later, a nine-play, 71- yard drive ended with an Aggie score following a four-yard quarterback keeper by Ragan Ashley with 4:40 to play in the second quarter. The extra point was good by Swann.

A few minutes later after a Bulldog turnover on downs, the Aggies moved the ball 65 yards on five plays. The touchdown came on a 45-yard pass play from Ashley to Logan Brooks. Swann remained true on the PAT sending the score 28-0 as time expired going into halftime.

Brooks managed over 100 yards in the first half.

A quick three-and-out by Priceville to start the second half opened up Fairview’s next scoring drive. Six plays and 80 yards later, Ashley scored on a short keeper and Swann remained perfect on the night, sending he score 35-0.

An interception by Fairview’s Sambo Woods put the ball on the Bulldog 38-yard line. After two big runs by Brooks and Fairview’s offensive remained dominant and Brooks sprinted into the end-zone on a 10-yard carry. Swann’s consistency remained and Fairview led 42-0 with 3:22to play in the third quarter.

The final score of the game came in with under two minutes to play. Tyvn Ellis made his presence known by connecting on a 9-yard carry. Swann seventh extra point of the night was true and Fairview went on to win 49-0.

Brooks went on to finish with 135 rushing yards on the night as a leader of the explosive Fairview offense. Priceville’s punter Will Dugger was a stand-out for the Bulldog’s special teams as he sent five spiraling punts through the air with an average of over 40-yards on the night.

Priceville will play at Vinemont on Friday.
